Hey all I have been lurking around here for a few months while I have been searching for my Bronco. Last weekend I pulled the trigger on a 74 from the Denver area. The PO (David) was nice enough to meet me in the Lubbock TX area and I drove her home from there. The is a 74, strong 302, rebuilt c4 and a 4 inch lift. There was the normal rust on the floorboards and inner fender support. I will have those parts here tomorrow so I should get that fixed pretty quickly. I am hoping to get this thing built into a daily driver by March so I can give my daughter my car. I am sure I will have questions for you guys, however I have learned so much from this site already. As far as plans I am going to change:

the B&M shifter (dont like how it operates)
replace the inner outer fenders.
found that I need to replace driver rocker pannel.
strip interior and raptor line it
put in family cage
new dash
new paint
ac from bc bronco
and front disk conversion.

I am sure there will be more and I will add plenty of pictures. I have not got a name for her yet so I will change the title when I get to that point.

The PO said it has a 4 inch suspension lift no BL. I can confirm that because I need to replace the body mounts... and all the bushings.

Make sure you take measurements before tearing out the inner fenders.

Cool!! sounds like your going to be super busy!!! Are you going to put the chrome body moulding back on? Have you thought about what color your going to paint it? And are you doing all the paint/body work yourself? Good luck with everything!!

The original plan was that I would be painting her a light metalic blue or green but mama put a nix to that. The current plan is for me to do all the body work and paint her. I am planning on going with one of the following colors from TCP global

Daytona Blue Perl
Firemist lime
Plum Crazy Metalic
Firemist orange
Cobalt blue Firemist

Decitions decitions...... what do yall think. interior/top will be black so it will go with anything.

You thinking about using a 3 stage paint... Pearls and metallics aren't the easiest to paint. But they do look good on broncos.

Nope the TCP metalics are a 2 stage and are pretty simple to paint. I used the silver metalic on my motorcycle and the Magenta pearl on my wifes. Turned out real nice and looks just as good as the paint I could have done at the local shop.

Got some more work done this weekend. Finished cutting out the driver side floorboards and installed the new inner fender wells.

Will get the new floors in this week and then start cleaning up the interior to get ready for lining and such.

Well the weather and my time finally let me get some things acomplished. Here is what I got done this weekends.

Removed the drivers side rocker panel that was discovered as being rusted out during the inner fender repairs.

I still have some repairs to do to the outer door jam and seal it all back up to prevent rust in the future. then it will be time to grind down the welds and strip the interior for my home made lizard skin and finally raptor lining. Then I can focus on the top and exterior paint and of course the break upgrades and AC sitting in my garage before puting the body back together.

Thanks, it has been an interesting jurney trying to teach myself to weld and do other body work.... It is funny how you can have tools for years and never really use them the way they are intended (grinders, saws, ect...). The welder has been quite fun and frustrating at the same time.

As far as rusted in all the same spots, it should say mine was rusted as i have cut out all the body rust and am repairing the damage...
