I know about the early eyebrow grill, lack of side markers, but what exactly is the tailgate differences and are they only unique to the same early 66's that had the eyebrow? Any other cosmetic differences?

The difference in the tailgate is very subtle. It has to do with the small body line across the upper portion.

anyone have a picture of the 66 and a picture of the 67-77 tailgate for comparison?

tailgate only on the early 66's with the eyebrow or all 66's?

'66 had the windshield hold down hardware that they got rid of later, also vaccuum wipers which had square holes on the inside of the frame for clips (making the windshield frame different). These details they got rid of in the 70s. Also, no backup lights in the tail lights. The backup lights were round, below the tail lights, almost looks as if Ford forgot and added them later. Headlight rings do not have the adjuster holes. The grill light lenses are small, set back in the grille, and are white.

rear hatch handle has the lock separate, hood and braced differently, but I dont think you can tell from the outside, and dont forget about the hard to find hubcaps!
