Well waiting for the baja to get into/ out of paint the last couple months and not supposed to get it back till mid winter so I thought i would update you all on what I have been working on.

Picked up this project this summer. Frame was por 15'd and chassis, brakes and axles were gone thru. New disc package up front..

I replaced both rear quarters, driver side foot floor pan and front fenders ( all fenders were cut) only rust really in the rig was the floor pan I replaced. Fairly solid all in all. Cleaned up the under section of the body and sealed and painted. Seam sealed quarters, floors, etc.

I finished the Chassis (hammerite paint), removed the 3-1/2 inch lift front and rear. New 2-1/2 leafs will go in the back and new 2-1/2" springs up front. Removed all the bedliner from the bed (pain in the butt). Cleaned up engine bay. 1 coat of prime, 1 more to go. Going with rangoon red paint and white top. Belt line chrome trim, chrome bumpers. I already re-upholstered the bench seat. New foam and all. Ford factory slots will go on this (like my orange bronco...I love slots).

Still have to prep the grill and tailgate. A lot of work. Engine and trans out as I'm undecided on what im doing yet.

Pics below as everyone love pics. From as purchased to where I am today. ..

The U-14 is looking good Rich! Is it a '72? The '72's are pretty rare dudes!....something like 1,200-1,300 produced. (a lot more rare than a '66 roadster). I really liked that original tan to on a half cab too; It may be because a buddy of mine in high school had a half cab that was that color. It as a 6 cylinder with a 3" lift and some narrow Q buckshots!

Looks like a fun project. What did you use to remove the bed liner?

Put a little time in in this while the Baja is still at paint. On a positive note supposed to get the Baja back any day.....

Half cab is almost ready for paint. Need to remove the front 3-1/2" springs. Going with a 2-1/2" Luber look. As stated previously this will be my wife's grocery getter. Going with Caribbean Turquoise with Wimbledon top. Bench seat. Disk brakes up front. Obviously glass top from bronco design before Mike let the business go. Safe, comfortable ride for the wife and baby girl.

Some bronco porn.

Nice job Rich. Its nice to have some warm weather to work in. I have to replace the fuel pump in the bronco again. It looks like Saturday will be a good day for that. Maybe take the hard top off too. Looking forward to seeing the baja when it gets back from paint.

Thank Hank. 2nd time for the fuel pump or you just never replace it again? Cheap parts or ?

Bronco cruising weather finally in michigan. Amen I agree.

Was hoping to have the Baja done by broncorama but I don't think that is going to happen. Damn painters are slower than a turtle. ;D oh well she'll be ready for summer.

Later, can't wait till the dunes:cool:

Not sure if bad parts or what. I put a new Bosch fuel pump in it last fall. Took it out the other day for a drive and as soon as you would get about half throttle it would fall flat on its ass. Took it over to a friends house and under load the fuel pump is not keeping up with the motor. Just ordered one from Summit Racing. Should be here tomorrow. I hope this is the last time. Yes the dunes will be great.
