I bought a 72 U14 halfcab from photos, sight unseen. This may be one of those deals where I tell my self "I told you so dumbass".

Another Texas ranch bronco. Wish it had a V-8 but oh well.

Okay here are the photos. Another craigslist buy.

I've done that a time or two, the last one was a '67 half cab Sport way over in MS, real cheap, was extremely solid & ran pretty good too. Maybe you'll get lucky too. Let us know how it turns out!

From the pictures it looks like this one was Ginger metallic and later repainted to tan. I prefer vehicles that have matching paint inside and out.

Actually looks pretty good. Last year of the U14, good find.

That might be one that you keep with a completely stock rebuild.

You can get some of your investment back scrapping that cattle guard. Nice find....I'm kind of partial to Ginger. Is that an extra tank or is it" the" tank?

The factory tank leaks, so the owner got that one and is going to install it before I pick it up.
I'm hoping that grill guard was put on early enough in the Bronco's life it protected the factory grill and it won't be banged up.

Looks like a couple in the background?

Hehe I already asked about that,, he said they belong to customers and not for sale. That green one caught my eye too.

I keep thinking this thing would be sweet in orange with a white top, with a John Deere 4 cylinder diesel.

I finally got to pick this bronco up and see it in person. It's pretty solid, just needs floors and maybe a rear bed pan then paint. All door posts are solid. This ones a keeper.
Need to figure out what engine to replace the I6

1972 u14

I usually try to keep my comments to my self but this time I will let it out.In 1972 only 1285 u14s were made making this more rare than most broncos out there other than 67/68 u13 .Its uncut and looks to be in very good condition and the last and least of all u14s made.I say put it back stock or close to it and it will be more valuable in the long run. That is my opinion but its your truck just something to think about.Nice fine and good luck:)

Knowing that little bit of info makes me really wish I picked up the 1972 U14 that I found a few years back. U14, factory 302, 3speed. I was just lazy and didn't follow up on calling the owner about it.

Looks good man. I'm glad that it's in good hands.

Brian, I'd say your right. The vin number is a late 72. It very well could be one of the few last 72 half cabs ever made. I would restore it back to its factory stock condition.

I'd like all the info I can get on the VIN info of this bronco. Lets talk about the changes I am thinking of, and if it would ruin the 'last few made' value.

The Bronco I want to build from this is a LUBER halfcab, V8 EFI with power brakes, steering, and air conditioner, auto trans, 3.5" lift, 2" body lift, skinny 33's or 35's on slots. Painted grabber orange with white top and white ranger kick panel stripes. I want it to behave on the highway but have good flex so I can at least play around at Katemcy with the rest of the pack.
So, is this the one? and would those changes destroy the intrinsic value as a 'last of the halfcabs'?

How many broncos does this make Flyer? I know I have seen you with at least 3 or 4 different ones on trailers!

I've had a few. Started with a 78 I bought brand new when I was a senior in high school. I had a 1967 302 for awhile back in the mid 80's. Later had an 81 with 6 cylinder. Drove a 96 Bronco as a patrol vehicle when I was a deputy.
Then got interested again and started messing with the early broncos, starting with the 75 I restored from a 600 dollar mess.
Pics show what i've had since then. All these I sold, doesn't include the one in this thread. I regret selling the 75, and the tan U13. The others not so much.
Holy cow, I just realized i've owned all these since I moved to Texas 3 years ago.
