Poor mans build thread

I've had this 74 sport for a while, and just now have gotten the funds to do a few things to it. It started with drum brakes all around, with auto trans and power steering. Has C-4 with smooth running 302. This is what I have to work with. Original paint, and a pretty solid body to start. Not going to be a flashy build, but my goal is to first get it road worthy, and then start on the cosmetics.

Looks like a solid Bronco to start with. Lots of poor builds going on here so no shame.

Got my Chevy Front Disc Brake conversion last week, and they went on today,I also had the motor pulled, cleaned up a bit added new Holley 600 carb with electronic ignition. Also added new Edelbrock intake new fuel pump, distributor, plugs, wires, alternator.

Top

I heard a company made these aftermarket tops back then for Broncos and Scouts. It has a Boat hull design for the frame. Made well, but not my taste. Going to find a half cab. Sorry for the big pics guys. Going to get the engine compartment, and floors sprayed in bed liner this week.

Sand blasting them first?

Treat them with KBS rust blast or Ospho coat before priming and sealing.

Plan on sanding/wire wheeling most of it, then Ospho in some areas then spray it.

Bed liner sprayed, just have to touch up some areas that were shadowed. I went with a tan/clay color. It looks lighter than what it really is. The bed and floors were in great shape, but they still osphoed some areas where there was some light rust. Got a sweet deal on a fiberglass half cab, plan on getting it painted soon.

Slow go, but mechanic got the motor, and brake booster installed. Also scored some Corbeau Baja seats, cant wait to get em in. Bending family roll cage, and front tube bumper soon.

I may go with the Tom's 2.5" suspension lift.
