Finally starting a thread to document my Bronco build/refresh. This is my first EB and probably won't be my last. Found this one in Denver and agreed to buy it on 10/6/2013. Flew from Houston to Denver early morning on 10/10/2013, exchanged funds and paperwork and then started the 1,000 mile drive back to Houston. Made it 400 miles from Denver to Amarillo on 10/10/2013 and then the remaining 600 miles from Amarillo to Houston on 10/11/2013. Truck drove solidly at 60 to 70 mph all the way home and thankfully no problems.

Somewhat undecided on what to do with the truck so mainly have been spending most of my time cleaning the truck from top to bottom. I really wanted an original paint, uncut EB and still think that may be the direction I head before it is all said and done which means selling or trading this one.

This truck was cut at one point in its life and then was returned to uncut and painted during the 1990s. The color is the same as the original, code U - Vista Orange, though there is a slight variation in color between the rear fenders and the rest of the truck. Also have some slight surface rust/blistering at the rear fender seams.

Prior owner did a fair amount of maintenance in the last 6 months including new brake system (power booster, master cylinder, front & rear pads/shoes), new front seals, upper and lower ball joints, new fuel pump, carb rebuild and radiator flush and reseal. So far I've only had to change the oil and filter and replace an exhaust donut gasket.

If I keep the truck plans are to:

1) Finish the cleaning - full exterior/interior/underbody detail
2) Address rear fenders
3) Install interior sound deadening
4) Install stereo system - CD player, amp, component speakers and sub
5) Replace front seat covers and foam
6) Install 2.5" suspension lift
7) Replace OEM gray rims with OEM white rims and install new AT or MT tires

Some pictures of interior carpet cleanup. Used Adam's Carpet & Upholstery cleaner which is very easy to use and produced excellent results. Highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a carpet cleaner.

Pictures of interior rear seat cleanup. Used Adam's Leather & Interior Cleaner on this with excellent results. No pictures of front seats as the covers need to be replaced.

12/21/2013 update:

In anticipation of pulling carpet I removed the interior rear panels and cleaned 30+ years of dirt and dust.

Also decided to see what I could do to address the faded black paint on the exterior body line chrome trim. I ended up just removing the black paint so that I'm left with solid chrome. Think it looks pretty good, although may look at trying to put a brushed finish on all exterior chrome at some point.

Man that is my dream Bronco. Year, color and uncut. I hope you end up leaving it as stock/original as you can, but in the end you have to do what makes you happy.

I'd love to get together and take a look and talk Broncos one day. Hopefully we can get a Houston area meet together sometime after the new year.

Thanks. I'm a big orange fan which is why I was drawn to this one. Would rather it have been burnt orange though! I'm not going to do anything drastic with the mods. The stereo will be unobtrusive and still not even decided on doing the lift. Definitely need to get a Houston get together organized after the New Year.

1/5/2014 Update:

Over the holidays I pulled the carpet to see what was lurking beneath. Fairly clean I think with the exception of the driver floor pan front seam and small spot in right rear floor corner. I've been cleaning glue residue off the floor but not really sure why when the sound deadening and carpet will cover it all up.

OOOH I like this Bronco! Huu need to fix my Quarters and "Uncut" mine! Floors look really good very fixable with not much work for you except cleaning I give you kudos for the great clean up you are performing! Always nice to see just what you got to work with without all the dirt crud in way making things look worse than they are. Very impressed with the carpet clean up! I painted my Bronco Hugger orange I suppose its a Chevy color but I thought it looked good. I really like the Dark jade green my Bronco was painted from factory too. Since my 77 Bronco is an Ranger I think it would look good with the Ranger stripes like yours!

Nice weather in Houston today so decided to grab some pictures. I drove by this building recently and thought it would make a great backdrop for the Bronco. I think the first three pictures came out really cool with the reflection. Bronco is now sporting hubcaps.

Definitely doing your homework with a good documentary of everything that's being done to it; you know, in case you move on to that original paint model you're after.

Nifty little rig you have there btw.
