"Timber" - '76 Sport Build Thread

Tonight, my Dad ended up with another Bronco.

It's an uncut '76 Sport, 302 with auto, power steering and power disc brakes. Very little rust. From the door posts back, it is straight as an arrow. Solid door posts, rockers, tailgate. Just needs a little floor pan work. This is one of the most solid Broncos I've looked at in a long time.

The bad part is, a tree fell on the front of it years ago, and mangled the front clip. It got the top and windshield frame too. He bought the orange clip and just stuck it on it, but the hood is actually decent. With all that said, this one will be an easy fix.

He plans to go pick it up Saturday. I will be gaining one out of this deal as well. I agreed to buy his '71 Sport soon.

Whats sad is, we just moved into a bigger shop. This one is gonna have to go directly inside too. We are running out of room.

If we get to a dozen, we are gonna need an expansion!

Oh, btw, I named it already. Timber! ;D

I think he has decided to make this one a nice driver. It really isn't gonna take much to fix it. We already have some of whats needed, so that makes it that much easier. I'll post more pics when it gets home. I'll clean it out and try to get it running too.

Now that you brought that up, I kinda feel like a hero. It's close to home so lets consider it saved from a bedliner massacre. ;D

I noticed on b'ham CL that someone just south of y'all has a eb's wanted ad...that wouldn't be ole denny liner himself would it?;D;)

Dad brought it home today. We cleaned it out and while there were a few very minor surprises, it is still super solid. It needs just a little more floorboard work than I thought at first, but not much more at all. I can't speak enough of how straight it is, other than the obvious tree damage.

We got it to run when pouring gas in the carb, but the fuel pump isn't picking up the fuel I had running to it. So I may put another fuel pump on and try again.

We are starting to luck up on some parts for it already. I went and bought a bunch of parts from a buddy who has decided to get out of Broncos. After I bought a LOT of his parts, we noticed a nice passenger side window frame in his shop. It was brand new, and he sold it to Dad for cheap! :D

Also, there was a nice windshield in the parts I bought, plus some bright vent windows. We already have a nice windshield frame on a '74 parts truck, so that is taken care of as well. If only the '73 was coming together this easy!

We are still gathering some parts and pieces for this one. I went to pick up the rest of my parts from a buddy, and he ended up pricing Dad a bunch of new stuff for cheap. We are gonna use some of it on the '73, but a good portion of it will find it's way to the '76. I'm going to sort through it all for him and see what all we won't be using on the '73.

Man some peeps have all that luck ;)

Here lately I have just called the right people at the right time. I bought a bunch and so did Dad, so we both are fortunate. :)

I forgot to mention, we met a different guy who had some parts left over from a build. Dad bought a few things from him. A new driver side inner fender was in the deal, and will be used on this.
