Advice wanted on selling a Ford Bronco

I have "inherited" an old 1966 Ford Bronco from my parents. My parents weren't using it and were tired of storing it, so it's mine now. I know nothing about cars/trucks, and don't want to store it either, so am looking to sell it. Any recommendations for how to go about this? Craigslist? Ebay? Something else?

The Bronco's exterior has been restored, but the top is not attached and a few parts aren't attached either, so it needs just a little bit of work. But I have neither the time nor the interest to figure out how to do that. Can I sell it as is?

Other than the restored exterior, it's mostly all original parts. Maybe a new starter and transmission. Any ideas on how much I should as for? I don't want to get taken advantage of just because I know nothing about this stuff. I see some Broncos selling for loads of money online, but don't want to sound stupid by asking for too much.

Thank you for any help you can give me!

OMFG.....
From the mouth of babes.....

No insult intended to the OP.

But man.....I freaking love that half cab.
Exactly what I would want.

Your original post was so understated...Lol...I wasn't expecting such a cute little booger.

Man, that old thing. I would say the value couldn't be more then $2,500.00 maybe $3,000.00. But since I like you I will give you $4,000.00, but you have to have it delivered.

I'm just kidding, with the right buyers you could get $18,000.00 and up.

But, I am no expert.

Yes, I posted it on Craigslist before it occurred to me to research how to actually go about selling it. I just removed the ad.

For those that have expressed interest in it, thank you. I am not ready to sell it quite yet and won't be responding to messages in this thread about that. But I will let people know for sure once I feel like I have a handle on about how to go about this (sorry if that sounds rude, just trying to be clear. one thing at a time!). Right now, I'm more interested in trying to make sure I don't do something dumb.

First thing I've learned is that I need more photos. I will work on that this weekend or early next week.

Second, it sounds like Ebay is a better way to go than Craigslist. What are people's thoughts about Ebay vs. the For Sale forum here?

Third, people have recommended I be patient.

And so far all I have is that it might be worth around $18,000.

There is people that appraise cars, hot rods and such give one a call. it will be tough for you to come up with a price on your own. because there is such a wide range of bronco owners. there is the guy who beats his up off road, and your stock one is not worth a whole lot to him, but on the other side is the purest who wants it bone stock, uncut, and as low of miles as you can get.

i think if you look at it from the money outlook you will never be happy, always thinking could i have got more.

It is really free money. i would look at it more along the line of did i get a price i feel good about selling it to a person who i think will take the proper care of it. this comes from a guy who sold my dads 37 ford truck after he passed away.

;D

I was jokingly thinking something along the same lines. From what I have seen, that is a very nice ride. I hope it ends up at a happy home.

This group is a wealth of knowledge and with more pictures can probably give you a fair range on potential value.

This site offers a great "for sale" section and I'd try to list it here first. eBay will charge you fees and you have no idea what it will go for. Craigslist will flood your email and phone with a bunch of tire kickers and spam. At least with this site you would be selling to someone who will probably pay a "fair" price and take good care of it just like your family has over the past years.

Nice Bronco & good luck with sale!

I think you were good at 30K but that might be low if additional picture of the frame and undercarrage & interior look as good as the top side.

watch the mecom thread and see where Scoops half cab goes for.
