I like the oem hubcap look for my '76 lubr. 1"BL, 2.5" SL. I plan to get the 31x10.5 Wildpeaks. I have done a lot of reading and believe I need 15x8, 5x5.5, 3.5BS steel wheels w/ centerbore> 3.45". I want to avoid spacers if I can. The issue is I cannot find them even as a custom built wheel. I have seen 15x7 @ 3.75 BS

Suggestions?

You might be better off with the 7" wheel to avoid rubbing the uncut fenders, or the stock 6" wheels.

Wheel Vintiques (Summit Racing has them) makes a replica of the factory steel wheel. 15x7" with 4" BS. Will fit perfectly with the 31x10.50 tire. Confirm that BS will work with Bronco Hubcap. I know the 66 Hubcap works great, may have to reach into later Hubcap for manual hubs???

The factory 5.5" is too small and some shops will not even mount them to a 31x10.50.

Go to speedwaymotors.com and look up part number 250-45158 and 250-45168. The center bore is 3 11/16 inch according to their answer to my inquiry.
You could also look for a set of the ford steel wheels that came on ford trucks and broncos in the 80's and 90's that had the stainless trim rings and bolt on center caps. They were painted argent color and you just don't use the trim rings and center caps, just put your hubcaps on. They usually can be found for a reasonable price, especially if you don't care about the center caps and rings.

What size bore does the wheel vintiques have? Really doesn't matter with hubcaps on, but i think they use the real large center bore, like 4 1/4 inch, so they can be used on jeep as well.

Thanks for the input folks. My understanding is that 3.5'BS is necessary to accommodate the calipers and steering knuckles in the front. This is impossible to find in a 7"+ wide wheel.

Compromise is a 15x7 with 3.75BS and a 1/4" spacer up front. The positive here is a little more room for the uncut rear.

I know there are plenty of folks running this configuration so all I can figure is they must have 10.5" tires on a less than optimal wheel width.

Here is the Wheel Vintiques 15x7" with 4" BS mounted on my 76 Bronco.

Knuckle is tight but a 1/4" spacer will work perfect.

66 Cap and later Cap shown.

Mikesimp70 - I have chosen to go another route with wheels. These are available for sale.

Thanks for the pix. Helps a lot! Pretty much narrows things to the stock 5.5s with skinny tires if you want the OEM hubcap look.

Time to start looking at 17s

Here is the Dodge 17x7". These have a lot of back spacing. 4.75"??? a 265x7017 would fit your suspension well. I was going to put this combo on my 76 but when I sold my 96 the new owner wanted them.

The center will need the proper bore though.

Doghows here on CB used late model Dodge truck steel wheels. 17"...
He had to have the center honed out a little but they look perfect.

One quick question. On the picture with the later cap, do you happen to have the measurement between the top of the lockout and the bottom of the red ring? I could close the gap by .75" by using a 15x6 with 3.75"BS.
