Here are a couple of others to look at. There is no question about repainting it. The only question is what color or colors to go with.

I like the grey blue. Take a look at Lapis Blue metallic (It's a Mazda color, it also goes under a different name for Ford products and it used on the 05 Mustang.) It's an incredible color and the metallic/pearl paints look great on the lines of the EB.

The one in the first set of pics or the one in the second?

Be careful of going with a metallic. Impossible to paint match once its on if you dent, scruff, scratch it. My old CJ7 was a pewter metallic and was impossible to match even with extra paint of the same batch mixed. Short of sanding and strip a whole panel and reblowing with an air gun, it just wouldn't match.

FWIW, I have been thinking about repainting mine with the grey lower half. I was torn between the two when I painted mine to begin with, and it hides more dirt/dust etc with the lighter color.

I think that the first blue probably looks wierd because of the color on the simulated beadlocks. I like the two tone blue/green/grey in the second set the best. The maroon looks best to me as a solid not in the pattern in the second photo.

The beadlocks are far from simulated. It took me 3 days to get the tires on them because they are reversed rims. I'm not too big on the maroon either. It was basically given to me (thrown in with some other paint I had mixed) so I gave it a shot. I'm leaning more to the first blue because it is lighter and will help to hide the dents and dings that it inevitably will get. I think I want a little darker shade of grey though more like the second one.

The Two Colors Are Cool, But Left Mirror Is Telling You To Stay With The Old Paint ;)

No Glue,

I think you mean the right mirror, all I can see of the left mirror is the back of it.

Saddle Up,

I think you nailed it with the last blue/grey combo. The electric blue and light grey. My 02 F-250 is oxford white with a grey two-tone, and the grey hides the dirt real well. I don't have the code, but you might check that grey out. Might go well with Scotts sugestion of the 05 mustang blue (if you're gonna go with oem Ford paint). It should look good.

Galen

P.S. I've been eyeballin' the 05 mustang metallic green (almost an olive), since I saw one in Las Vegas in March.

I am partial to Maroon. I am planning to paint mine Maroon and black, kinda like yours is now.. So if I had to choose from the pics you posted it would be the maroon and grey. But it sounds like your set on blue..

Yah, the last blue/gray looks sweet! I wanted to paint mine a blue on top w/ a dark gunmetal grey on the lower portion. But I ended up painting the whole thing blue, for now ;) . The nice thing about rattle can paint jobs is that you can touch-up & change the colors anytime you want & on the cheap. SaddleUp, your rig would look killer even if it was Barby Pink!

I guess that what I am seeing, and that maybe is throwing off some people, is that the beadlock color of the first blue (because it is brighter) makes the whole thing look "computer generated". I realize that you are mocking it up on the computer, I just think that it will look probably better in reality with that blue, than the picture. I like the color of the blue, but it just looks a little like the beadlock is "floating" in the air instead of like it is part of the wheel. It's probably just me being wierd, so don't worry.

Thanks, Barby Pink hasn't even been considered. I use a rattle can for stuff like the bumpers and I'll use it on the rockers because they get scuffed up pretty bad on rocks but for the rest of the body I'll use automotive paint. I'll just make sure I get extra mixed up and choose a paint that doesn't need to cure for several days before I can work with it. Probably a Urethane Basecoat/Clearcoat this time.
