Silver Fellatio Build and Projects Thread

Well I guess all of you benevolent souls out there have inspired a "Fix Up a GI's Bronco" trend and my truck (In storage at my parents) has just got sent to the body shop for finish work! My father, who got the yoke for OBB, has taken the Bronco to a buddy's shop to get the full boogie. Here are some progress pics for all to enjoy:

Body Work

Yup, it's staying uncut for sure. There is NO rust anywhere on that truck. JBG has supplied some new metal due to a lot of acid damage on the passenger side apron, cowl, and inner fender, so I replaced them. Thanks for the looks!

My sigline says what it already has but I have a '91 'Stang SEFI for it and a ZF adapter from Lougee. I have all the parts to return it to stock except seats (have the stock rear seat)and the steering lower shaft which I had to splice into the '79 slip-shaft at the rag joing to match up the steering lines. I would ride the NC trails out in Aberdeen and Uhwarrie(sp?) so that is why I put such a firm suspension on it. Driving around since I got the kit from Duff would like to throw my neck out hitting anything so I might tone it down with a shock disabling that I can add back IF I ever take this thing anywhere near the trails again. I am having some problems with the steering shafts and four lane changes now but I will get it dialed in when I return.

sweet, looks pretty solid. hope it all works out well for you.

It might work out even better with a sweet locking t-gate handle. ;) Did I mention my birthday will be in like seven months? :p

Dads are alright by me. I think it would be cool to see a stock bodied bronco all tricked out with the goods.

You guys are dead on with the modern-stocker action. I have already updated the suspension with what I think is a "keeping with the stock lines" stance. I went to a larger wheel and tire for...uh...well....looks and oh yeah "brake cooling". HAHA. I still have the stock wheels and h/c. The LeSabre seats suck @$$ and have a set of probe seats. I am not sticking with the stockers since they blow more than the Lesabre ones. It's tough getting that low of a profile seat or butt height without cutting the floor. I have a new duff aux tank so that isn't gonna happen. I have the sefi standing by and want to go with a hydroboost but I think it is just the stock booster from a '76 that is weak. I will check that out later. I have the low pressure electric pump hooked up now and have the accumulator and high pressure on stand-by. I am running a Mallory multiport fuel pressure regulator w/return hooked up so the plumming for the efi is already set up. Just have to get the home time to finish it. Thanks for the looks guys!.....M

Here is some more progress. Most of the body is ready for the top coat and clear coat. One shot of the stock bumpers swinging and one of the body men John.

Edit: Shop owner Chip.

I like it. Looks good, and it's something that I've wanted to do for a long time. Have a completely stock appearing rig, but with some of the modern goodies, and no larger than a 33" skinny tire.

Nice job.

This is killing me! My father is sending me pics all the time of the Bronco getting ready. Here are some pics of the suspension and the inside of the truck ready for the top coat.

Well, not much to report but things are going back together. The front fenders are giving them serious issues and they had to be scrapped in favor of new ones. Turns out that I suck at body work and torqued them putting it back together.

Sidebar: Has anyone ever had an issue with the hood struts causing the hood to bend? They won't hook them back up due to this and are worried about the paint cracking afterwards.

Well, things are coming along again after the fender issues. Just came from the paint booth.
