Anyone here use one of these ?? How did you mount it to be out of the way ??
The filter is a lot bigger than I thought it would be , and every place I like it hangs down too low. I was thinking of mounting it sideways but that would cut down on my reserve , and might not work well if I get hung up on some dropoffs. :(

Theres no room under the hood, and I'm going to keep the saddle tank.

Speaking of saddle tanks , where can a guy get a 6 port dual tank switch ?
Can't seem to get them and the local wreckers here are no help.
This EFI swap is gettin' to be too much like work :p

Thanks guys .

Mine is mounted in front of the passenger rear tire.
I would not call it optimal, but best fit.

I mounted it inside of the front fender. Probably not the best spot, but it's been there a couple of years with no problems yet.

I havn't figured out where to put mine yet, but inside the front fender seems like a decent place, and makes for easy filter changes with less mess. I think a cover would be good to keep rocks and stuff off from hitting it would be in order though. It's a big SOB isn't it.

Thanks classic4x4s ,,I think thats a winner.
I've already made some plastic inner fender panels that should keep the debri off the filter.

Now all I need is that 6 port switch...

Pollak makes the switches. http://www.pollakaftermarket.com/

I like where Classic4x4 has his mounted. I mounted mine in the engine compartment on the core support but I think it picks up too much heat. The blue filter in the forground is the transmission filter. I have since thermally isolated it from the fuel filter/accumulator/seperator/pump assembly.

I put mine in the engine compartment up front towards the grill.

The accumulator looks like a remote oil filter setup with the return simply drilled and tapped. Is this the case? or am I missing something here? Also on Crawln 68's I do net see a return to the tank, just the filter. Is this ok with the efi setups? Or does it need to also go back to the tank? Thanks, BI

yup, but you also need the pickup side to have a tube threaded into it to draw from the bottom of the filter to have it act as an accumulator. lot of folks use them without the return to the tank with no problems but i would think it would cause the low pressure pump to work a bit harder.

For it to work as an accumulator it must have a return to the tank to bleed the air out of the top. Otherwise the accumulator will be mostly full of air with the fuel flowing only through the bottom...

One of the lines is a return line to the tank. I forget which one it is of hand, I'd have to go look at it when I get home, but there is a return line. ;D

I made a sheetmetal cover for it and sprayed it with undercoating, but just never got around to installing it. So far I have not had any problems with rocks or other debris, but I do intend to cover it just in case.
