Ive read about dudes loosing the aux tank and I can see from pictures why.

For those of you that have these steps, is it impossible to install an aux tank, and then place the step actuators on the outside of the tank? Then install the running board appropriately? Not possible due to space? to much stress “in the middle” to support a person? I’m assuming there’s just no room for widening the space between the actuators because I’d think someone would have already done it.

I’d do some measuring but I’m in the middle of a frame off and my body and frame are currently in two different places. these steps would be clutch, but I’m not ready to give up my aux

Cheers

Saw a thread about a month ago where a member fabricated his own power step and he was able to maintain the aux tank. I did some searching but couldnt find it. You might want to search for it

I think I saw a YouTube vid of some custom steps. I’ll look again and post What I find. I’m Kinda leaning towards the MORE steps just because of the simplicity, plus they come off if you needed them to, while still getting the semi disappearing step concept.

Anybody who has a pair of the amp steps, could I mount the actuators on either side of the tank? They are fancy and look nice.
