I had a paint shop owner come by the office and we got to talking Broncos. Said he was in Pismo Beach in the late 70s and remembers a Bronco there that said Duffs or Duffy's Bronco and he swore 3-4"was chopped off the side to make it lower. After some googling this came up and he thinks this is it. Is this chopped? Fiberglass front?

He worked at Ford in the 70s and got to work on all sorts of Broncos so he knows them very well. He has quite a car collection himself. Owns 2 Ford GTs, one for street use and one for track use. The track one has 28K miles on it and I dont think he has ever washed it. I did a half mile event in his street GT and that is the most amazing driver's car Ive ever been in

Mr. Duff's eb "is" channeled(?)
[A chunk of the body has been cut out of it to get it lower]
Sick
Sick
Sick

"Pony Express"
Pretty much the "original modified eb"

Mr. Duff is the "Grandfather of the modified eb"

Under hood shots make the mods easier to notice.

One sick ride.

I have ridden in it "with" Mr. James Duff himself at the wheel.
Yes, I just said that/\/\.
Bucket list item, check. lol.

The Pony Express is indeed channeled. The body lowered enough that he is direct driving the fan off the crank pulley, no belts for the fan, and it is center of the radiator. Im sure Michael or Suzy will chime in here as there are so many modifications to that little gem. Who knows, maybe the legend himself will pop in and say howdy. Im just fortunate to only be a few hours away from them and get to hang with them several times a year and drool over the Pony every time. Best part is Mr Duff still takes it to the Dunes and drives the hell out of it and we again were fortunate enough to get to play on the dunes with him! A few more pics for you to enjoy!

It is indeed channeled like a 32 for lowboy roadster and nearly 40 years later is still super cool. It was the inspiration for some of the styling in my own build most notably the grill/bumper profile. I also got as low as I could and cut the rockers of plus a little for clearance. James is a very modest guy that was such an inovator that it is still relevant.

This bronco(not sure who it belongs to) also shaved the rockers down. It’s something I’ve been considering to do to mine.
