2 of us counted them 8 times and there is definitely 19 teeth. a few teeth are chipped. an extensive web search cannot find this gear w/ this teeth combination for the dana 20. we are wondering that maybe the teeth are chipped(short of a bad driver) b/c someone has changed out the gear for the possibly correct 8-5-9/809293. history is unknown as it was loosely inside another vehicle w/ other parts. info from the transfer case; mfg date 7-19-74, serial 1985923, b/m 300 777-18, d3ta-7a195-cc, told it was a j-shift, c18-15-29. on the shaft of the gear on the outside has 18-7 and 22 stamped on case. so does anyone know anything about this? i will try to supply pics if the site allows.

It (gear 18-5-21) is a J shift cluster gear. Info from the back of the case also says it's a J shift. Gear 18-5-9 is for a T shift case. They are not interchangeable unless the sliding gears are swapped also.

There are no NOS gears sitting around anywhere. Only used gears that come out of transfer cases. I can sell you one. PM me.
