I purposely left out axle gearing. Like just mentioned... way too personaI..

I ran 4.10's with 35"s and 4.57"s with 37"s for close to 20 yrs with my ZF/203 and the 4r/203 (and later 4r/ Atlas combo).

I DD alot. I drove 1,000 miles to the Con and back. I run up to 280+ miles/day with my wife and no complaints with a 351W, 4.10 then 4.56 with 35's and then 37's. Average 160-190 miles/week from Feb to mid Nov with my 460sbf, 40"s and 6r.

Gotta remember, its OK to shift down ;) & first gear in a truck trans has a top spd of 10mph lol and so starting out isn't an issue. It's maintaining rpms at freeway speeds for miles long 7% grades. That's where too tall gearing eventually bites ya in the backside.

Once again with a fully programmable and manually shifting auto neither of those problems are a problem. Converter effectively doubles your crawl ratio and you can click a button on the auto to disengage full lock up for another "gear" while cruising the steep grades.

Anyway, you're tired of reading my comments by now. lol

Have fun building it !
