MEB is hosting a Summer Campout on August 5-7, 2016 at Gifford Pinchot State Park in Lewisberry, PA. The park has lots of amenities such as biking trails, a swimming beach, boat rentals, hiking trails and play areas. The details of the park and campground can be found at www.visitPAparks.com.
The physical address for the campground is 800 East Camping Road, Wellsville, PA, phone number is 707-292-4112. The campground map is online and shows all the campsites. You can make reservations online or by calling 888-727-2757. Be sure to read the pet policy, as there is a limited area where pets are allowed, and also read the cancelation policy so you don't have any surprises if you find you have to cancel a reservation.
The campout coincides with the Truck Nationals in Carlisle, PA so you can go to the truck show as well. There are other fun things to do in the area such as visiting Ski Roundtop where there is zip-lining, mountain hiking and other outdoor activities. See www.skiroundtop.com for details. Its just 6 miles from the campground. There is a real drive-in movie theater in nearby Dillsburg, PA so you can take the family to the movies in the Bronco Saturday evening. Check the schedule at www.haars.com.
Several great restaurants are nearby such as Baker's Restaurant, open 24 hrs. It's located at 515 N. US 15, Dillsburg, PA and TJ Rockwell's nearby at 896 Grantham Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA. You can top off the day eating yummy ice cream at Brusters at 1 Tristan Dr. in Dillsburg, PA.
