New body tub build creates a Coyote Modification question for steering column

I was told by a coyote swap guy that I need to move the hole for the steering column 1 1/2 inches away from the center of the firewall.

Can anyone with real coyote swap experience tell me if I need to move the hole over so the linkage won't hit the front drivers wheel well (mine has the crease in the side style for a 76 & 77 Bronco) or will a new short tube steering column fit without the linkage hitting?

Thanks
