Does your radiator still have the traditional layout with the inlet on the driver's side and the outlet on the passenger side, or has it been replaced with a version like the one used in Explorers which has the reverse outlet configuration?

Yes, at least for my setup, the Mustang top hose worked, bottom did not, I tried a bunch of different things and eventually went with a stainless flex hose kit.

I hear lots of bad things about the connectors those kits come with so I used silicone hoses from HPS for the connectors. I think I needed a reducer hose for the radiator connection.

Used this hose with a 69 Bronco with a 351W and that Rad...

I didn’t quite have all that space so my lower is a 45° reducer to stainless flex.

That flex hose might have worked but didn’t try that style. Certainly would’ve cost me less!

I have the explorer serp and the champion radiator here are the hoses I used:

Upper Hose: 1986-1990 bronco II 2.9L with Manual Transmission LOWER radiator hose, NAPA NBH 8427, GATES 21736, DAYCO C71280.

Lower Hose - Dayco Molded Radiator Hoses 70778

As I remember both hoses took a bit of trimming but ended up fitting pretty good, I hope this helps.

These are the hoses I use for the Explorer setup. That part# is 21912 from Carquest. The hose was longer and I cut the end at the radiator. For the lower hose I use a Carquest part# 20046 and cut it down.

This thread is great…keep it up! Let’s give people options! Wish I had this when I was trying to figure it out.

It could be the one WH's sells, I have used them on my Explorer builds. There is a stock one and one for a 2" body limit... If that is what he used?
The one champion has is for an electric fan, so I don’t think it is a champion.
