Stock Gear Ratios

Does anyone know if there's a web link that would show the available "stock" gear ratio options on the Gen 1 Broncos? I'm looking at potentially buying a used D44 axle (it has 3.50's) and was hoping to find one with 4.11's. The guy I'm thinking about buying from (who builds Broncos) is telling me that 4.11's were only available as special order, and that I'd likely never find one. I've seen lots of posts saying they were a stock option (and not special order). Just hoped I could find something that I could send him to prove him wrong, as I'm not a mechanic and feel odd disagreeing with him...

Stock option is the special order. Standard ratio is 3.50. When ordering the bronco new there was an option box for the 4.11s. At least with the V8

The I6 had the 4.11 standard and the 4.56 was the option box.

Most Broncos were built with the 3.50 gears like you have. The ones with 4.11s have been sought out for decades. Thee days holding out for one with the right ratio is going to be a long wait.

So what web link do you need? There is a really good Bronco book that was released a few years ago that has way more information in one place then you will ever find searching the web for production stuff that is 50+ years old.

And to shayt4au, you will also see references varying between 4.09 and 4.10 in addition to the 4.11 ratios.
Don’t be concerned about that, as the Dana differentials in the front and the Ford diffs in the rear, usually had slightly different numbers.
But they were compatible.

You can still use the 3.50 diff and carrier, just put a 4.10 gear set in it. I put one in mine. I believe they are called a thick gearset?
