Our local off-road group, the Cuchara jeepers (my lower case j!), went to Ouray this past week. Great time! In attendance were my Bronco, one 2023 Squatched Wildtrack, one Land Cruiser, one FJ Cruiser and 8 Jeeps. Had a blast. The trails around Ouray are not particularly hard (with the possible exception of the Wall on Poughkeepsie Gulch), but as the Razors keep digging them out, they are getting harder. Case in point is Yankee Boy Basin. A few years ago it was a pretty easy trail - Blue in the Funtreks book. The upper part is now Red. Very dug out so some clearance over stock and a rear locker is pretty much required to make it to the top. In 3 days of wheeling we did Engineer Pass. Corkscrew, Hurricane Pass, California Pass, Imogene, Last Dollar and Yankee Boy. We had a couple newbies with us and they did well. We opted out of doing Poughkeepsie due to rain and most of us had already done it several times. We all had a great time! Here are a few of my pics.

San Juans are some of the best part of Colorado. Black Bear Pass dropping into Telluride has been on a fav of mine since early 2000s. There’s also a great hike up Sneffels skree with a easy 4x4 trail to the trail head.

Thanks for the pics and trip down memory lane! :)

We've been there several times with our local group and 3 or 4 times with Bronco groups. Great area and very scenic. Back Bear is still closed so we didn't do it this year.

Made the drive from Durango to CO Springs a couple of weeks ago. What fantastic country.
We probably saw 500 Jeeps of various sorts in Silverton and Ouray Not a single Bronco, classic or new version. What’s up with that???

Thank for sharing your trip Gary. My recliner and IPad is as close as I get to any trails, for now.

There are few things greater in life than running the San Juan Mt. passes with your friends in Broncos. Thanks for sharing all the photos, Gary!
