Meathead,

The Q you need to answer is what are you restoring this truck for? If you are like me (anal retentive) then go ahead and visit www.dennis-carpenter.com and order a new tailgate. If you are restoring this for functionality (i.e. a beater or just for fun) then order the rounded portion replacement for the tailgate and weld in yourself.

If you don't have a welder or don't feel comfortable doing that, then it will also probably be cheaper for you to go ahead and purchase a new gate on your own. Metal workers can charge you an arm, Leg & first born. You might be better off with new steel & prepping/painting it yourself!

Good luck!
