I am trying to decide on a dash color. Were the factory dash colors the same as the exterior colors? My current exterior color is orange, not sure what exact code or color it is. Have not been successful in matching it. P.O. painted the dash black. It looks like crap.

The dash in most were Wimbledon White.
I'm not 100% positive yet, but I do not think it was the same standard gloss as the exterior, but a satin interior version of the color code.

The Rangers and a couple other special packages had color matched dashes.

Light gray was also used in 1966. I can not recall off hand if that was Roadster only, or all of them?

Here is some more info I have been working on recently related to color codes, top color match options, etc.

It does appear to be Wimbledon white up under the other layers of paint.

My 76 is paint code number 2, called out as Cyan Red (orange) on the window sticker. If you look at the Ford 76 Truck paint charts, its called out as Tangerine.%)
My dash is Wimbledon white. Check out the pic's in my garage.

Which paint chart? FoMoCo, or PPG, DuPont, etc?

DO NOT just go by names on paint manufacturer charts. The are often the same or similar, but sometimes they are completely different!

I'm looking at an actual 1976 Rogers Automotive Finishes paint chip card now, and code 2 is listed as Cayan Red, just as it is on the 1976 Ford Bronco sales brochure and in the scan of an original 1976 Ford Light Truck Color Selections paint card shown below.

Actually the "white" dashes were Parchment , not Wimblodon White . Parchment is much more "yellow" than Wimboldon White . They were definitely a lower gloss color too . All '66's were gray & as noted Rangers were color matched to the exterior & I think maybe the Explorerer model too ? Bronco's are sooo much fun to figure out ! :p ;)

I see a paint chip in the Rogers book for an interior color called Lt. Parchment that is a saint finish.

Is that the same as used on interior door panels?

What about the inside of the hardtop with no liner? Gloss Wimbledon White like the outside, or satin Light Parchment?

Yeah Drew , Lt. Parchment it was . Door panels too but the top was all white inside & out . The PPG number was DIA-22780 but it has been "obsoleted" , my jobber hasn't been able to find a mixing formula anywhere . FYI , the DIA indicates a interior color like , for instance , DAR indicated Acrylic Enamel , etc etc( PPG codes ) . I'm guessing that flattening agent isn't used anymore so it isn't commonly mixed ? ?:? So what I do is "color" or "eye" match the Parchment & grey interior colors . Something that all production painters had to learn back in the bad old days . Probably be easier to just get a paint supplier to "scan" the panel & make a formula but I tend to do things "different " ...:p
I also have a PPG & RM color chip book I put together back in the '70's .When we'd get new paint chips I kept the old ones , just wish now I'd been more diligent & grabbed everything . Don't think of those things when you're young !

I did my dash in that spatter coat trunk paint. A very flat charcoal gray with very light gray spatter. Previously my dash was a gloss white. Damn it was bright, like chrome. The trunk paint (abc paints) has worn well and still looks great. It's been about 23 years now. I still like it. I can't say that about everything I did to my EB back then.

Sorry Drew. I didn't realize there where different paint charts out there. The one I have on fill is the PPG one. This clears up my confusion on my paint color.

Thanks
