jeremy's bronco looks nice from the outside, but it's not very well taken care of. engine (351w) bay is filthy, interior is dirty and has rust on accessories. i've seen it in person, shaun bryant works on it for him. still, cool that he has one.

twitty bird is really cool! wonder where it is? looks like he has polyglass street tires on it, and still uncut.

Twitty Bird Bronco was on eBay in 2001 or so and went for just over 10k I think. A friend from TN was thinking of buying it, but it would have been his only car at the time and he didn't want to subject it to that. Was still really clean and nice at that time. Cool tire cover too.

I have about 30 pictures of Twitty Bird. I looked at it and drove it before it was auctioned off in 2001in Nashville. It was the nicest, most original Bronco I'd ever driven. It had alot of cool custom chrome parts in the interior. Only had around 10K miles. It had a cool chrome front winch bumper with a chrome Warn 8274 that Loretta Lynn gave to Conway for his birthday (so I was told). I bid $9200 and it sold for $9300. Back then that was a helluva lot of money. It's one of the few Broncos I regret buying. I'll post pictures when I get back in town this weekend.

I'll bet you mean NOT buying, right? :) I remember when it was on ebay - it was quite the talk of the lists at the time. Didn't it have some blue on it too?
I wonder the new owner ever did with it.

Oops, yeah, not buying! It had an updated paint job, and maybe an entirely different Bronco. I'll have to dig up the old pictures. It was Silver and Blue, and the Twitty Bird was much larger, basically took up the entire door. I'll find them and post. Never saw the Bronco around the area again after it sold.

One of my favorites! James Garner.

jamesgarner.jpg

What's interesting about the Bronco portion of that movie is that they used two distinctly different Broncos to create the footage. They spliced pieces from the '68 ABC Baja 1000 special together with footage of Garner and Scooter Patrick roaring around the desert, doing donuts, etc. in another Stroppe race Bronco. The Bronco in this picture is the one they used for the extra, non-race footage.

True that. Ray harvick's 68-70 season truck. And they went to the trouble of copying the number, sponsors, and names to match the truck they actually raced in the 68 1000...

These are not really of anyone famous but the pics are pretty rare. These guys used to race Broncos in sand drags all over the southeast. The Bronco was named the Freight Train because it was built from pieces of a Bronco hit by a train. Apparently they were pretty competitive back in the day.

In this shot you can see a street driven version of the Freight Train along with the racer. The panel painted Bronco belonged to the shop owners brother.

This is a later version of the Freight Train after picking up a sponsor. Tidwell Ford is where my Dad bought his '77 F-150 4x4. He said they stayed up all night getting the Bronco ready for this race and when this picture was taken the paint on the roll bar was still tacky.

This was another Bronco that belonged to a crew member lining up for a hill climb.

I second that---Very cool and absolutely love the Rat Fink style lettering on the side of the Freight Train.

Anyone else with similar photos?????
