Welcome and and might want to think about having the exhaust turned in behind the rear wheels because of the fumes that can be pulled in at the lift/tail gate area .

Just a thought.

Welcome Kim!

I too have a Hot Ginger 73 and it spent the first 23 years of it's life in Texas! It was in CA for a few years until it made it's way to sunny FL!

Enjoy!

Welcome, it'll be good to have another female around here!

Do you have a list yet of the things you're going to fix up/replace/etc?

Some of the things I'm considering from the start:

Disc Brake Conversion
Wiring Harness
Suspension
Carpet
Carb - not sure if it just needs to be tuned - or if this is an issue
New Tires

In all instances, I want to be certain that the changes I make will not devalue the car in any way.

If anyone has any input about the list and whether or not this changes are a good/bad decision -- would love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

Great looking Bronco and welcome to the site. Just be careful who let work on it, do a lot of research and ask Q's on here, these guys will shoot ya straight. You don't want just any "joe" working on it.

Welcome and very nice truck. As others will tell you the first items to address are safety items. Brakes, tires if need be, suspension parts if they are worn, steering components, etc. I would take some time to look through a few build threads to get ideas of upgrades you want to do.

Plan to work with a shop that is 100% dedicated to EB restoration - if I don't sell it - to buy a truck I saw listed here today!

The 1st two things that need to be addressed are the Brakes, which you have listed, and the steering, make sure both are in good working order. Pwr disc brakes and pwr steering are a must for a daily driver. I would guess it has the factory pwr steering but it is prob the 6 turn box unless someone has already converted it, a 4 turn box would be better.

I wouldn't put a lift kit on it espc if you plan on it being a daily driver, just install new springs, shocks and a poly bushing kit.

As for the wiring harness unless it has problems no need to mess with it, just do the headlight harness upgrade and the "charge wire" upgrade. We can discuss this further in another post. I always do these 2 upgrades to the factory harnesses and have never had any probs from them.

The factory carbs are usually really good, they can be a little tempermental at times but once you figure them out they usually work good. Just have it rebuilt along with the gas tanks/fuel lines cleaned out.

A good set of AT tires and you will be ready for a cross country drive.

Be careful on this, really check on who is actually doing the work. Since Broncos have gotten popular it seems like every other guy is "world class, best in the whole wild world Bronco restorer". There are a few big name bad apples that have the unsatisfied owners come to this forum for help and guidance.

These trucks are very simple. Don't overpay some self proclaimed expert. Unless you are doing Bronco specific upgrades, which I would not do to this survivor, just get a good, reliable mechanic to check the brakes, change the fluids, check carb and fuel system (including tank cleaning), wiring, and enjoy it!
Are you flipping it or keeping it?

Kinda shocked that a casual remark about selling this truck has led to so many inquiries. If I can be made whole, I am actually considering selling her because now that I have discovered this forum, I think I can locate a more complete truck in a preferred color. Otherwise, she'll be my baby and I will have made some great new contacts. EVERYONE that has reached out to me has been amazing and has shared their knowledge with me. I've learned a ton just from their inquiries.

FUN!
