I’m looking for new front panel speaker pods that will fit with the Gen V Vintage Air. I had the previous style that James made, but they don’t clear the passenger side with the VA heater box.

I’m aware of the Four Crowns option, but they are $600 and include $40 speakers. I also know about TPD and their solution is $1000. I’m just looking for the kick panel since I already have speakers.

How much hacking would be needed on JGZ’s pod?

I saw your pic on the other post, is the top part all you had to modify?

When I was trying to make the prior speaker pod work (JGZ's), I trimmed it, to lower it. Before that, the speaker would hit the edge of the VA box. If the kick panel was redesigned, It would fit using the same speaker. I butchered the panel up trying to get an idea of what needed to change.

I don't have a pic of it because I sent it to Jason. I'll follow up with him to see if he's given it any thoughts.

Thanks, could you have made a cleaner cut?

The TPD units are nice and are actually less expensive if you use the same speaker (morel nano 62) for the comparison but not my much.

While they are a clean install, the speakers (moral) leave a lot to be desired. Not totally clean because you have to install the external crossovers.

Are the JGZ pods still available? I read where Bronco Hut was selling them years ago but they are since closed. Any other similiar? I see WH has a plastic version.

I’ve purchased the WH4x4 speaker pods. They arrived today. I set the passenger side panel in place and it looks like it clears. I’ll install over the weekend and provide an update and pics,

Thanks, are you running gen V? Speaker depth is 1.75, limits your choices. No factory brake, but I did not use factory brake.

Here’s the pics of the WH front kick panel speaker pods. They fit fine with the vintage air gen v. The floor dimmer switch is also close, but works. I also like the Velcro pads they provide so no screws needed.

Not sure which focal they are. Love them

I think they are 6.5”. I also have 2 in the back with a 6x9” in series. Mid size amp and no sub. Sounds great.

I found the model in one of your pics. I am running Focals in the back with a 10 inch alpine sub (5.1200 Focal amp). My front speakers are Morel in the high dollar enclosures. I like the Focal much better.

About 1/4 to 3/8”. I could have created more clearance if I’d set the speaker closer to the front edge of the pod. Maybe another 1/8 to 1/4”.
