Small voltage in gauge backlights from right turn signal

Yep, you guys nailed it. It was the right rear tail light bucket. pulled the bulb and i lost the voltage. tightened the bucket down a bit (still in primer) and it's gone. thanks for helping narrow it down!

Small voltage in gauge backlights from right turn signal

Yep, dedicated ground from battery to firewall.. where i mounted a stud to run my dash, etc off. Pretty sure I added the one to the core support tooo. I'll double check the ground on the fender (inner or outer?).. I dont recall having one there. I have deleted my marker lights on all 4...

Small voltage in gauge backlights from right turn signal

Yep, i found that wire on the column. I actually had it disconnected (had forgotten about the bulb....since i'm using the Dakota gear selection screen). I plugged it in during testing and it now flashes with Right turn signal engaged. The interesting part is that the bulb only lights up (gets...

Small voltage in gauge backlights from right turn signal

Yep, i think you might be onto something. I'm wondering if I have a wire rubbing inside there connecting the two circuits. Time to tear the column back down i suppose. I took my indicator off and I can tell the little bulb is flashing with the turn signal (very faint due to only 2v) I'm not...

Small voltage in gauge backlights from right turn signal

Alright, hopefully this is an easy question that someone else might have seen before.. I've been wiring up my Dakota Digital RTX gauge.. as been lots of fun as detailed here. I'm down to the end of it and have a curious error when i use my right turn signal of my Flaming River Tilt Steering...

    Dakota Digital BIM-01-02 error 8?

I convinced DD to exchange it for a new one. I'll have to sell it now, but much more marketable than a broken one ;) Thanks for your support! This forum is full of pretty awesome people. Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk

    Dakota Digital BIM-01-02 error 8?

Well, good news today. After exhanging a week's worth of emails with DD tech support i finally got frustrated and spent another $125 on amazon to have a new BIM-01-02 shipped to me overnight. Yeah, it's the curse of the Amazon prime button.. Well, it paid off. I received a newer build this...

Explorer vacuum lines (the thread to end all threads)

are you referring to the extra white line that goes into the elbow w/ the double hole? It's been a little while, but I believe i simply pulled the white line out and then plugged the hole with a plastic plug.

    Dakota Digital BIM-01-02 error 8?

So I tried a few new tests today (both suggested by TJ at DD). 1.) I tested the voltage in both the bad/8 error state as well as in the good/connected/F state. voltage test out the same in both. similar to your theory, they thought it might be a 'brownout' condition confusing the BIM. No...

    Dakota Digital BIM-01-02 error 8?

Cable tested. It was brand new from Summit, but tests out fine. Yeah, TJ from Dakota support has been responsive, but seems to be bouncing ideas back & forth from DD engineering and they're claiming error '8' doesn't really mean anything other than the BIM is confused on the signal. I forgot...
