    D44 inner C cut & turn

I appreciate all the info on fixturing but unfortunately, I'm nowhere near that far along. While I am better, I have a lot of other unfinished projects that take precedence over this one so I'll ask again is there's anyone in GA, western SC, northern FL or even eastern NC up I-95 that could help...

    D44 inner C cut & turn

Well, a lot has happened since my last post but none of it has involved my axle housing. A couple of medical incidents and unexpected home repairs plus life in general have kept me from working on it and unfortunately, I don't see that changing anytime soon. So...is there anybody out there who...

Thanks for the input! I kinda wish I hadn’t made that last pass around but I thought it just might show me something.

    D44 inner C cut & turn

Been sidelined by some medical issues but I finally started working on my axle. I’ve gotten on side ground down to where I’d think the crack would be but I’m not seeing it. Any thoughts? Do I need to grind into the C more? I really don’t want to screw this up!

That'd probably help, wouldn't it? I'm in Savannah, GA so almost as far away from NorCal as CONUS allows. Anyway, I know a few people who could do it for me, one of which is a welding instructor at the local career academy. I've been hoping to take some lessons from him anyway since work can...

    D44 inner C cut & turn

Thank you very much!! I'd been checked out for the past week or so and had pretty much convinced myself to let it be but your response as well as the others have convinced me it's the right thing to do! Now to find someone who can weld it up after I do the cut and turn...

    D44 inner C cut & turn

Thanks for the input!! I am on the fence about pulling the trigger because I’ve been trying to lean into the RKG mantra of “don’t get it right, just get it running” but the engineer in me wants it right! That said, when I was driving it, I don’t really recall it having any unpleasant...

    D44 inner C cut & turn

I've had my '71 front axle out and stripped to rebuild for a while (too long, actually) and am considering rotating the Cs for caster correction. Since it's out, I don't have a way to measure what it was so I was wondering if anyone could recommend how much they need to be rotated or, better...

FL Chevy Disc Brake Conversion KitSOLD

I'd be interested in the outers and hubs if these guys don't take them. I already have the brake conversion parts and want to upgrade my axles while I have everything apart.
