Track bar / drag link geometry

Bringing the last bit of math to begin summarizing, highest priority getting angles the same, second priority on getting track bar / drag link as long as possible as well as flat as possible, and the same lengths. Pic of my setup's bump steer with current configuration and if I match angles...

Track bar / drag link geometry

Yeller, Finally back home this weekend and getting back to fun things instead of work, here's the measurements you asked for Compiling all info in one place: The drag link is 41.25 inches long and inclined 6.05 degrees The track bar is 34.75 inches long and inclined 9.4 degrees Left link...

    Found pics

Terrible pic of a film picture from early 1980s showing Bronco and Mustang. Such good memories.

    77 brake issue

3 to 4 inches seems like way more than I would consider acceptable. Agree with @serial car restorer to check push rod gap and also that MC bore is matched to rest of system.

Brake Booster Losing Pressure with Engine Running

@Apogee, thank again for turning me onto Crown. Stopped by on my way to visit with family and picked up some 3/16” conical seals. Great vendor and awesome products.

Track bar / drag link geometry

Looks like we’re matching the 3.737” but getting a difference at the displaced conditions. Do you see anything I did wrong?

Track bar / drag link geometry

This post is matching angles of drag link and track bar, but leaving the different lengths of arms: First pic is at ride height, the next two pics are 2" raised and lowered: Only 0.009" of bump steer, I'm assuming it's due to different length of arms. Note that at @Yeller pointed out...

Track bar / drag link geometry

Interesting results from looking at CAD for my setup, turns out matching the angle is much more important than matching length. First pic is drawing of current configuration with a 2" and 3" offset from track bar to drag link: Next two pics are dropping and raising the entire axle 2"...

Track bar / drag link geometry

Thanks much, remind me how much suspension lift you have and if you added any drop brackets for track bar or have a dropped pitman?

Track bar / drag link geometry

Look’s like the Duff’s setup Yeller posted, seems like could be a good idea. Out of curiousity, could you tell me how long the drag link and track bar are? And could you tell me what the angles are?

Track bar / drag link geometry

Sitting at airport with a bevy in hand and noodling. I still like the idea of extending track bar to match lengths as the preferred approach for my next step, but had an idea that I could use feedback on. To avoid the roll tendency on the tie rod linkage with a drag link attached to the tie...

Track bar / drag link geometry

Thanks for info, looks like an elegant approach to help reduce the roll. Seems like the Ford T-style used thru 1975 (before they when to the Y linkage) would have a similar roll issue as Jeeps that this part was designed for?

Track bar / drag link geometry

I'm about to head out of town for work for a nearly two weeks so jumped under truck and got what I can today before leaving. Some data first, the length from link pivot bolt to bottom bolt at axle is 32". The top bolt at axle is inclined about 4 degree towards aft of vehicle (the second...

Track bar / drag link geometry

My thinking is maintaining my wristed setup (not adding the upper arm) gives me better off road flex, but contributes to body roll during street and highway driving I can buy back the added body roll due to wristed setup by adding a sway bar. Adding in quick disconnects on the sway would...
