Dana 20 jumping out of rear high

On a Dana 20 you don't have to tear the case apart to get to the detent springs. Mine did the same thing to me, I just shimmed the spring a bit to make it stiffer. Did it from the cab, short project.

lower radiator hose - no spring?

okay thanks, that makes sense. No purge tank, I guess I'll take another trip to the hardware store for a spring. :)

lower radiator hose - no spring?

Putting a new lower radiator hose on, and the new one does not have a spring to keep it from collapsing under vacuum pressure. Is this no longer a concern?

    Gasket and Permatex question

So I swapped out my cam and getting ready to reassemble the front end of the engine so I can start it up and see how bad I screwed everything up. Reading Permatex's site about most common gasketing mistakes, and number 10 on the list has raised alarm bells...

    Help! Is this clean enough?

Thanks! that's the one I was looking for. I have the plain Fel-Pro 1250 but this one is better.

    Help! Is this clean enough?

Felpro says not necessary to use any sealer other than in the corners where the pieces meet. This is against my instinct and do as you suggest. hmmm

    Help! Is this clean enough?

I spent this past weekend cleaning this surface for the lower intake manifold. Does it look clean enough? Ready for the gasket and intake manifold? What's the best gasket you guys recommend? Is it a mistake to use or not use permatex grey? Doing a cam swap and working on the front now. Cleaning...

    Infinite camshaft variables...

Ya, Summit has a brief description that mentions built in advance/retard for custom grinds Mine is an off the shelf grind so I'm going to look into it a bit https://help.summitracing.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4706/~/advancing-/-retarding-a-camshaft It's quite a process...

    Infinite camshaft variables...

that's one of the things I'm getting ready to look into. What advantage/disadvantage is there to advancing the cam one or two degrees.

    Infinite camshaft variables...

Love the advancement in tech, even at the cost of sanity. hehe Damn near installed a cam I would have been very unhappy with. Now I just hope I don't ruin my engine doing this.

    Infinite camshaft variables...

My eyes are bleeding from hours of reading about camshafts, studying camshafts, watching videos about camshafts. Heck, I dreamt about camshafts. Learning a lot though.

Want to go roller on my mystery motor

You've probably resolved this already, is the motor flat tappet or roller? If your 302 is a flat tappet motor, you can convert it to a roller motor, but it's kind of a can of worms, you will have to change the lifters to roller lifters, which involves either installing a spider to keep the...

    camshaft w stock heads worthwhile?

Oh that's positive! and nope it is not original to the Bronco. When I bought it in 2002 the original 302 soon grenaded (spun a rod) and my local trusted mechanic replaced the engine with a Jasper rebuild. I know it's a 1980 block from the letter code near the starter. Sadly I didn't think to...

    camshaft w stock heads worthwhile?

Well, I have to replace my timing chain cover and since I'm at it... I have a 1980 302 block mostly stock, I converted it to mid 90's explorer EFI several years ago. Will I gain noticeable lower end torque (is it worth the trouble) if I change out the cam (thinking the COMP cams 35-308-8) even...
