    torque converter for 96 explorer and c4?

    not surfer-B but summit says 1700, but of course ymmv depending on application. I've put in an 1800rpm spec TC behind an eec iv EFI 5.0 with a c4, 4.11s and 35s and it ran great.

    with that high of a stall, I would look into a governor incompatibility or malfunction. Just a wild ass guess though.

    I vote for upper. if you get a bad tank of gas or your timing is off and the engine starts pinging and the the head/water temp spikes you want the fan to kick on as soon as possible. I would want the sensor to detect the temp spike before it has to go through the radiator. This also makes sense...
