Danwheeler,

I like the way your exhaust is routed and it has a real clean look. That is the way I wnat my exhaust to look.

I like the way yours looks also Dan. My question is did it change your trans temp?

thanks guys, that was the first time i've ever done exhaust work and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I guess I dont have any pictures of the muffler and tail pipe so I'll post those later.

i'm not sure about the trans temp because I made the exhaust as part of a 4R70W swap so I dont know what the temp was or should be.

Just finished my fisrt exhaust - long tubes with all stainless exhaust. 2.5" to 3" single. I will most likely have an exhaust shop custom bend a tail pipe for me, but will use a 3" dump for now.

look at you go! All yourself?

Yup ... lots of research on welding stainless then went for it. I did flare the ends of the pipe myself, but think it could be a little more. A muffler shop will need to do that b/c I do not have enouogh blue flame to form it.

Body droping back down on the chassis next week. I actully built an internal wooden frame and have the entire body hanging from my supported roof rafters - scary.

one thing I strongly recommend is using exhaust flanges to bolt together different sections of the exhaust especially on the muffler itself. That way if you change your mind or need to remove everything for some other maintenance, it's very easy.

Notice the flanges on the front and back of the muffler:

i like how your system looks and was thinking of doing mine the same or maybe put the muffler upright. was wondering just how loud is that muffler and how radical is your engine. i am going to be using all stock mustang injection setup with edelbrock e-street heads and a b-303 cam. just don't want anything annoying and super loud. like it to sound like a mild mustang with the old 3 chamber flowmasters. i would also like to see how some of you guys are running your tailpipes out the side of the truck. i don't wanna go out the back at all looking for something out near the rear tire at the back though not forward of the tire.

Heres some of my dual pipes. I like the two in one set up, it frees up some room. I really wanted to use the hooker fenderwell headers, but would not work with the protofab shockhoops on mine.

Here's my homemade exhaust. Stock manifolds, 2" head pipes into single 2.25" with dynomax muffler. Been very happy with it.
