I have finally made up my mind I need to put some king of roll cage in my two broncos. I currently only have the San felipe/basic roll bar in both trucks. I want to feel safe with my 2 year old son in the back seat. I know there are a lot of options, this is what I am looking for;
A full family cage no seat mounts or over the top gussets or tubes.
A basic cage to add a little protection to the back seat area. I like the look of the basic family cage that Toms sells but I don't think I want to assemble the whole thing my self. What are some other fully assembled cage options? I also was looking at the San Felipe rear weld in cage from Wild Horses any body use this one?

Don't bother preaching to me about having seat mounts or frame tie in's. I know the advantages to them!

I would highly incourage calling Gordon Bailie! He has two standard FAMILY cage designs that are very nice. Great guy and an ever better guy to do business with. This is the Family Custom that he built for me.

I just bought the San Felipe. I will end up adding longer cross braces from the main hoop as I didnt like the angle of the rear hoop with the shorter ones that came with it.

Also the notches where it ties in to the rear need to be worked, but I expected that. Other then that its fine.

I bought the WH family cage add on and it worked out real well on a 13 year old K Bar S roll bar. I added on the windshield supports (1-1/4" .125 wall DOM tubing) and seat belt bungs from Blue Torch Fab.

I bought the Bronco Bob cage off EBAY and am very happy with how it turned out. It is the same cage that Toms sells. It was $360 plus shipping. He can also fit and tack the cage together and then carefully take it apart so all you have to do is line up the welds and reweld it in your Bronco. Give him a call, he's a great guy to talk to.

I added the extreme family bar add on kit to my cage. You have to fit and weld in. but they are easy to work with if you have a local welder.

These parts ship ups, so much cheaper than truck shipping. If your planning to sandwich the floor get extra floor plates as the kit only comes with the top side. Think about seat belt bungs and hand holds and stuff like that before you order so you dont have to pay shipping twice.
they were great to work with.

2nd on Bailie. 1st class product at a reasonable price. His design also eliminates the need to tie to the frame, the rear hoops are bolted in with the tub mounts. His design has been tested in real world crashes on the street too, unfortunate for the bronco but all occupants got to go home without major injury, including the children in the back seat, after a major roll.

Even though they are welded solid to the main hoop I still have an inch or so "deflection" on the windshield end. I think if I did it over I would go down to 1" DOM for a little more deflection.
I also have a 5/16" bolt in a 1/2" hole for a little more play.

Thanks for the input. Gordon does make nice stuff I have seen it at the MEB Round up on a few broncos But he is out of my price range.
I am leaning towards getting an add on cage for my wifes bronco and seeing how it works out. If I don't like it than I may go with something better in my 67. Just cant bight off over 2 grand for two roll cages right now!

Hmmm... If you were close I might sell you mine... I have kicked around the idea of building a new one slightly different.

pcf_mark that cage looks really tall does it still fit under a soft top or hard top? I have looked at the extreme cage before did you weld it up yourself?

I ordered the add on cage from Wild horses for my wifes 73. I should get it in about a week and will start on it right away. Still haven't decided what to do with my 67. I think I want something a little nicer since I do wheel the truck and tend to drive it a little more aggressive than my wifes. So keep the pics and links coming!

This is the tall cage - I did not realize how tall until I took the top off! I am only 6' but I clear everything and getting in the back or loading stuff in (top on or off) is easy. I put my bike in almost standing up.

I fitted while the top was on and tack welded it. Then I took the top off and took it to fully weld and paint it. It took me about 10 hours working by myself. If I had a helper it would have taken half that because I had to make little jigs to hold the bars while I positioned them.
