Crazy last day and a half. Wildfire started at 4pm monday 4 miles north of my house. About midnight it had grown to 700 hectares, winds shifted and it started headed south towards Osoyoos. Its across the lake from me but still worrisome. Tuesday am, we can't see anything to the east through the smoke and plenty of people evacuated from the east side. West side from my house looks like a regular day, east looks like a war zone. Fire gets within 300 yards of structures before winds drop and the choppers and planes slow it down. It has now grown to about 4000 hectares and is out of control. Just got home from helping a friend move cars from his house since he has been given an evacuation order. Looking off my deck right now you can watch the trees explode into flames, we have had nearly no rain for months.
I do have my fire plan.... save the Broncos

First pic about 6pm monday
second pic about midnight monday
third pic tuesday about 9pm

Scary stuff.... I like your plan but just keep your priorities straight and keep you and your family safe!
Crazy... I live in Pennsylvania and can see the haze. Makes for beautiful sunrises and sunsets.. Just wish the reason for them was different.

Stay safe. Smoke from the western fires are being carried NE and then pushed down the plains here in Western Oklahoma. Orange/pink sunrises and sunsets here and hazy all day.

Thanks everyone. I'm not the only one in this situation, I want everyone in fire zones to be safe. We have people refusing to evac and its thier call .... but a house is not worth your life.
It all looked better today, not much wind and the fire just moving up the mountain. Damn smoky here all day though. About 4 pm choppers were working on hot spots near the bottom of the mountain. They packed it in about 6pm. At 7pm the winds really picked up and have driven the flames down hill towards the east side of town.
This link will show the video of my employers house having retardant dropped beside it just 10 days ago. My blisters just healed up form shovel work on the fire line. Some a$$ threw a cigarette out on the highway and started it. The house was saved, the bomber dropped 5 times around the house. I was covered in it from the spray. He got there just in time.

The pic is an hour ago from my deck... the lights to the right of the flames are the resort on the east side

Hoping for the best for you! Filly and I are in Tumwater WA right now and there were five fires started by cigarettes along the short section of Route 5 that we travel every day to get to her mother's house. Just in the last week.%)

As long as you finish it for me for next summer....lol

Osoyoos is still standing but it doesn't look good for the houses on the hill. Fire has topped the hill and is in the trees.
Oliver, a town 14 miles north of me has the hospital on evac alert and it has claimed homes in the rural area. One of my coworkers may not have a house, its burning big time in his area. This fire started between Oliver and Osoyoos.

My aunt lives just outside of a town, Lytton, 150 miles from me that was completely burned to the ground 2 weeks ago. She is still evacuated. Fire caused by a spark of the railway.

I wish I could finish it the way you'd like it. :)

We are so familiar with your area as we cruised thru and explored it several times/yr- every year for decades. Tremendous growth outside of the towns the past 20 yrs now. Hate to see anybody lose a house. :(

Lytton, Fraser and Thompson river areas too. We can't get North this past year and I'm sure we will be saddened by all the damage from the rampant wildfires. Sorry to hear about your moms place

Wasn't Lytton destroyed in less than an hour‽

Yes Madgyver , a 69 sportsroof a.k.a. fastback

I'm a custom car fabricator. The Torino is my own that I have been building for some years. Life and my Broncos keeps putting the Torino on the back burner. The pics are of its current state. I will get back on it in a month or so, it should be the final push to the end.
