Finally have the top done (other than new glass). Tried a few differant ways to make a custom headliner. Settled on a pretty good system. Once I had the headliner foundation done, I turned the top over and spent what seemed like forever priming and blocking the top, then base coat then 3 coats of clear, block with 1000 then three more coats of clear (flow coats). Block with 1500, 2000, 3000 then buff. Looks really nice.
Using the headliner foundation I built prior, I covered all the surfaces with white faux suede headliner fabric. It has a small foam backing. Came out real nice. Only thing left is to make the side window pieces. That should be easy to make and cover with the same fabric. Couple more days and I'll finally have top on, install install glass, liftgate, and then will need to make one more final headliner piece that covers top of windshield frame left and right on either side of the wiper cover.
