Hey Mark, just came across your journey. I am also taking on a restoration and rebuild with my son. We are working on a '74 and still trying to map out the best approach. The bronco was running just fine so I planned to keep it as is for a year or so, but the starter went out and is blocked in by the original headers. So a fairly easy starter fix opens up new challenges. Seeing your approach I am wonder if tearing it all down and building it up is the best approach. Looks like the body you were dealing with is similar to mine with just to much rust to replace panels individually. I like the full body replacement you went with. Nonetheless, just wanted to reach out and I will be following your journey. I am very much a novice so I will be looking to the forum for much guidance. Thanks for sharing your story.
Good luck! This forum is incredibly helpful. I spend more time researching and head scratching than anything else! Nashville Bronco and Matt's Garage on youtube have been a valuable research tool as well. It is a fun adventure with my hurdles to overcome. When it is all said and done I will have tightened and loosened every bolt on the truck.

Project update....

I'm working on getting the disc breaks installed from Toms, got the front done after replacing the u-joints on my front axels....that was quite the pain! Working on the rear but having some alignment issues with one of the caliper retaining bolts any suggestions, see attached photo?? I also am not sure about the pad rattling in the caliper, should it do that? Makes me concerned.

23 gallon gas tank set in place. :)

4r70w trasmission and dana 20 dropped off at trans shop for rebuild.

Good news on the body, paint is coming along and I am really excited to see it in person. Paint shop is having difficulty with the Parchment paint code that I have supplied from the forum, but I am hoping to find an ashtray locally that I can take down for him to scan...they already premiered the tray and glove box door. :(

One step at a time.....

that bolt alignment is odd, I've not ever had that issue.

As for the rattling brake pad, if it is the outside one, bend the ears down that you can see by the end of the misaligned bolt, it will stop. if it is the piston side it should have a retainer that snaps into the piston and holds the pad.

American Auto Painting in Renton. You don't happen to have a parchment dash I could use to scan?

let us know what you think of them overall. they did some small pieces for me a while back. Is Junior still there?

sorry, no parchment here. are you painting the dash? if so, i believe it was wimbledon white.
