If I was doing stripes, I would do 3 coats, then the next morning wet sand with 600 and apply 3 more coats of clear

PPG 2:1 is what I prefer. We start wet sanding with 1000, 1200, 1500, then Trizat 3000, and finish with 5000 grit. Next is a 3 step polishing process

I’m not allowed to have anything nicer than what I already have 😭

It's not that you are not allowed to have anything else, it's the fact that very few people these days seem to respect other folks things.
I would be afraid to drive anything that nice for fear of theft, door dings in parking lots, distracted people driving, or people driving that think they are the only ones on the road that matter. Beautiful work, I can only imagine the amount of hours that have gone into just the paint and body work. ;)

I have more questions than answers.
Even parking as far away as possible in a lot with nobody anywhere close, draws out the person with the biggest piece of crap that has to park inches from you. Could have a hundred empty and closer parking spaces and they still do it.

Don't understand that type and do my best to avoid them.

Beautiful rig.

Damn. Beautiful work and I love the color. I would be afraid to drive it. Looking forward to seeing the full assembly

You are almost completely correct. I’m also very hard on gear. So it’s really my own rule lol. I would also be panicking all the time, about driving it and other people being well, other people.

Single stage (as original). Cut and buffed but easily repairable. Mirror finish. Note: picture is of the inside of a front fender...
