Rear brakes locking up - help

I have the alignment tool that threads into the center of the valve. I think it holds the valve in position so it cannot shift forward or backward during the bleeding process. That’s what I have been using. I put my switch back on last night and the light has not come on, I’m guessing the...

Rear brakes locking up - help

Thank you for all the advice and information. I wanted to update you on what I found tonight. I did have a clearance issue with the caliper and the knuckle. That’s been like that since I put those on, explains why my brakes didn’t work so good. I corrected that this evening and the truck...

Rear brakes locking up - help

Rear brakes locking up - help

I’m trying to get my bronco back on the road after sitting in the garage for several years. I have disc/drums with proportioning valve and vacuum assist. This was an add on from one of the vendors many years ago. Ever since I did this upgrade my brakes haven’t worked that great. After much...

    Gear opinions for 35's

Thanks for all the input. This is a great forum. I won't do a lot of interstate driving, mostly back roads and back and forth to work 10minute drive at best. I think I'm leaning toward the 4.56's. If I stick with the 3 speed, that seems to be the better option. I want to put the NP435 in I...

    Gear opinions for 35's

I've been reading now for 2hrs and still can't make my mind up on gears. I have a stock 302, 3speed, with 3.50 gears and 35's with a 3 1/2" lift. Its a dog around town and I'm agonizing over which direction to go with gears. I also have an NP435 to put in it so I'm keeping that in mind for...

    Power steering conversion question

The 4x4x2 box is longer (closer to the fire wall) and the clearance between the shaft on the box and the inner fender wall is tight. I don't see how only one universal will do the trick. I'm think two will be required. I plan on cutting my steering column shaft in the vehicle with a saws...

    Power steering conversion question

I'm about three quarters of the way through converting from manual steering to power steering. I'm installing the 4x4x2 box mod. I'm at the point where I need to connect my manual steering shaft to the power box. I've seen several couplers offered by the bronco sites. Has anyone done this...

    Weak Brakes

Sounds like you've gotten a lot of good responses/ideas. Sorry it took awhile to get back, I've been out of town. I mentioned I was having similar problems with similar set up. I have 33's and vacuum boost with propotion valve and chevy disc set up. All new parts. Double check all the...

    Weak Brakes

I'm having the same problem. Just put new discs up front and vaccum assist, new master cyclinder. I bleed and bleed and bleed, and never got any better. I finally gave up and took to a local mechanic. Should get back in couple of days, will up date at that time.

Diff gears; can't figure out what I have.

I have what I think is a 1971, its been in my family since early 70's. I'm trying to figure out what I have regarding gears. Here are the specs from the tags that I can find. Trans. RAT AH 2 (three speed on column) T-Case. Dana model 20 (T -handle) Front Diff tag. DITA 3002-MB, 603218-3...

Just wanted to get some opinions on power steering conversions. I have a 71 with manual steering, one pieced steering shaft. Whats the most reliable option to go back with. How easy are these power steering kits offered by the bronco guys to install. Is hunting up the parts in a junk yard...

    brake problems

Talked with Duff, they weren't specific. Said it came from an early model chevy. Also said a good parts man should be able to find it from the cast #. Talked to a guy at work that used to be in that business and he knows how to track down a part. Think I'm close to getting it worked out...

    brake problems

I have a brake booster kit from Duff. The master cylinder has begun leaking around the bore. I've tried to find another master cylinder like what came on the kit and I'm having trouble. Does it matter what master cylinder I put back on that booster?? ?:?
