    Loss of my Bronco Mentor

Sorry to hear about your uncle. My mentor was also my uncle. He was not into Broncos, but I got my love of cars from him. He always had a cool car. Hot rods, 57 Chevy, the first Mustang fastback I ever saw, Corvette, suicide door Lincoln, dune buggy and some others. He saw Bullitt at a...

stay close to original or mod it?

It already has mods that are not original. A fuel injected Explorer engine will add value in my opinion.

CB member LuBR LoVR on the Bronco Talk Podcast!

I was able to listen to Todd and Mary on my way delivering my Patina Bronco to a muffler shop in Pueblo. I really enjoyed the talk. Mary, you have quite a story! Actually 2 parts of her story hit home. First, like Mary's, my Patina Bronco is one of the P's and Q's 1972 VIN orphans. It...

What have you done to your Bronco today?

I have about a quarter mile of dirt road from my driveway to the highway. Right now it’s all mud!

I'm on the way to get a new exhaust system installed!

Very nice! Is the sun shown at high noon this time of year?

I have not had a chance to listen to the podcast yet. I have a couple hour drive tomorrow so I'm planning on playing it on my drive. I'm anxious to hear what Mary has to say! (I hope it keeps me awake!!)

I similarly filled the hole on the dash of my trail rig/crawler. I did put switches there!

    Scoop's 72 Patina Build

Here's pics of the dash. Like I said, it's the way I got it except for adding the switch panel underneath (driver seat heat, fuel pump, Cibie lights, halo's, back up lights, 12V outlet, passenger seat heat) and cutting out the already hacked radio cutout for single DIN. Pics show the repro...

What year? A pic would help. Near the turn signal?

    Scoop's 72 Patina Build

I think both the sand paper and steel wool idea would probably work to some extent. It looks OK now and I don't want to take a chance on making it look worse. I really don't want to have to re-shoot it! Today I need to clean up and re-install the flares, then do some interior work - new turn...

    Scoop's 72 Patina Build

Starting to put it back together. It's still a lot glossier than I wanted but I think it looks fine. @Johnnyb I'll get some dash pics when I get it cleaned up. I've left it as I got it with the exception of trimming up the radio opening (which was already hacked up) to fit a single DIN...

    Wheel covers

If you have an original set of 66 hubcaps you'd probably be better off having them refurbished rather than looking to buy a nice used set. They are very pricey.

    72 Bronco Lift Assistance

I highly recommend 2 1/2" SL and 1"BL. you'll get a little lower CG and the BL will give you a little more room between the frame and body for future work or mods. Agree with @ep67bro 's comments above.

    All Veteran EB owners

Thanks for posting this. I'm a veteran but I was never exposed to any potential health issues during my 10 years of combined active and reserve service. Many Veterans were exposed to things unknowingly because they volunteered out of a sense of duty and patriotism. They deserve to be taken...

    Scoop's 72 Patina Build

Well, it's still a lot glossier than I really want but I'm going to have to live with it! It's somewhere between semi-gloss and high gloss. It actually looks OK - I was just looking for more contrast as I indicated above.

Rear quarter panel / top of fender trim covers

Another option I've seen is to simply plug the holes with stainless steel plugs. Laying a piece of sheet metal trim on top will trap moisture and possibly promote rust. But the plugs are a good option only if the paint on top of the bed rails is nice. If it's scratched from the top being in...

    Scoop's 72 Patina Build

Yeah, I had to think about it. I almost liked it glossy too. But I really want a contrast between the patina body and the nice glossy bumpers, Cactus Smasher and wheels. I should have it all back together in about a week.

    Scoop's 72 Patina Build

Went to the paint store today to see what they had to say. Turns out the clear I bought had probably sat on the shelf a long time and the flattener settled to the bottom and would not dissolve when shaken. So they cut the top off the can (a gallon container with a small spout) and scrapped the...
