    headlight switch removal

Lookin' for the button It's on top of the switch assembly, a small metal spring-loaded stud sitting up about a quarter-inch. Push it in and work the shaft out - you may have to finesse it. The button will depress fully when the shaft is ready to release. Good luck!

    Shopping for a 5.0 EFI

5.0 lead I have a friend in the Mustang Club here in Southern NM - has a complete 5-liter, with all the harnesses and accessories. Motor doens't need a rebuild, seems good - he wants $2200, which seems high until you realize he has all the goodies, ready to go. Beats pulling all the stuff off a...

Lucy, chu got some splinin' to do

Hey crew - I just went through a thread on lockers, my next cash infusion into the Bronc. (I've decided Detroit in the rear for now, 'something else' up front later). Question: My 75 Explorer has 4.11s and a factory trac-loc in the 9". Is there a way to determine if I have 31 spline or 28s...

    Power steering cooling question

Thanks guys. I like the idea of the external cooler mounted ahead of the radiator support like an auto tranny cooler. The small Ford pump-mounted one looks a little small (not that I have one anyway), so I like the idea of the larger solution. Thanks!

Im in 3rd gear before 10mph.

NO vacuum usually causes no shifting. LOW vaccuum (or erratic vacuum) confuses the tranny since it wants to shift with a low vacuum signal. Trust me on this one....

    simulated exhaust leak???

With enough amperage, it may sound like an exhaust leak, but not for very long; it'll start to sound like a fire after that! I once had a positive battery cable lay on a front wheel drive axle shaft until it wore through. The last few minutes before the car ceased running were similar to either...

Im in 3rd gear before 10mph.

Shifting Dude, if you're not running 5.13 axles or some other low gearing, I'd say something's up with your vacuum modulator on the side of the transmission. Either the vacuum supply is restricted/leaking/absent, or the modulator needs adjustment. If you're getting good vacuum, look into the...

    Power steering cooling question

Well, after coating Sandia Gulch in Las Cruces with a coat of PS fluid, I need to cool the stuff down. I have an idea - can I pipe the return line thru my replacement radiator's unused transmission cooler ports? Or is that too hot? Gracias por todo.
