    302 Compression Test...

Yes, the PO changed the timing chain and water pump at 100k for preventive maint. I bought this from the second owner and he had it since '74. He is a friend of the family and very honest. He was very meticulous with maint. on the Bronco. He changed oil every 2000 miles. Thanks for the...

    302 Compression Test...

Just need a compression test gauge and a remote starter switch. Warm the engine up to normal operating temp. Put the truck in neutral and set the brake. Pull the small wires off your solenoid switch. Pull the coil wire. Remove all 8 plugs. Attach remote starter to your solenoid switch...

    302 Compression Test...

I decided to perform a compression test today to see what kind of shape the 302 is in. This engine has over 199,000 original miles on it, and runs great. Holds +70psi at speed and doesn't consume oil. Here are the results: My 72 Ford Truck shop manual does not list an expected PSI, only...

    Tires! 33/9.50 In Mertic Is?????

Ford Econoline vans still have the 5x5.5 bolt pattern. This particular set is from a 2004. The backspacing works out great with the tires that I have. My Bronco is uncut and no lift. The tire just barley tuck in the rear fenderwells.

    Tires! 33/9.50 In Mertic Is?????

Yes, I got them off of eBay. They are from a 2004 Ford Van. I didn't measure the backspace dimension, but it looks to be between 3.5 - 4.25". The rears are uncut. The only rubbing issues are in the front with the wheels cut all the way - if I turn the tires rub inside the fenderwell. I am...

Uncut EB with new wheels and tires ...

Won't work ... wrong BP and hub bore... ;) eBay specials ... I have $82 apiece in these wheels. :-* Note sure, but I doubt it. Factory truck wheel widths seldom exceed 7". Thanks for the compliments. ;D

Uncut EB with new wheels and tires ...

Finally found some 16" wheels that would work on my EB. These are 16x7 2004 Ford van wheels with 235/85R16 Goodyear MT/Rs. These have given my EB a much taller stance. They clear the rear fenders, but it is tight. I may end up putting a 1" body lift on. Wheels fit well, although I will need...

    NP435 with T-Shift D20 ...

I want to convert to the NP435 - will I have to modify my t-case shifter? Seems like the T-stick would interfere with the tranny shifter. I would rather not mess with the shifter because it works well. Thanks :)

    will these wheels fit?

    CJ Bolt Circle = 5 x 5.5 = Bronco Bolt Circle ;)

    Swap suitability...

I have the opportunity to purchase a '96 Bronco for a really cheap price (worn out work vehicle). It has a 5.0 / E4OD combo. Would this engine and injection system be a good swap into my EB? Thanks ;)

What motor oil do you like?

I'm using Valvoline 10W40 in mine... The previous owner has been using it since '74, and with 199,630 miles on the clock, the results speak for themselves. Pick an oil, stick with it, and change it every 3,000 miles (or 6 months) and you can't go wrong. Later ;)

    Wheel decision...

I have a set of 235/85R16 Goodyear MT/Rs that I am going to put on my EB. I have to buy a set of wheels, and was wondering if anyone had pics of the following wheels on their EB... I will be getting 16x7s If they were not so heavy, I would go with these... Thanks ;)

    Towing with a Grand Cherokee????

I tow dollied my EB 520 miles with my '02 WJ. Mine is the standard 235hp version of the 4.7, so I would say you should have no problem. Back when I had my CJ, I towed it on a dual axle trailer with no problems also. Later

    Rusty part ID question...

Thanks for the quick pics! I know the hole that you are referring to. I'll have to fab up a replacement cable. Later ;)

    Broncos are cooler than Jeeps...

I'm sure this topic will draw alot of hits... ;) After getting my EB home and spending some time going over it, I love it. I have have several (5 or so) Jeep CJs. I built one from the ground up and have worked on countless others. I still like and respect Jeeps, but the EB is just so much...

New here, need a little help. thanks

I got my '72 for $2000 - a little rusty, but all original and runs and drives excellent. I lucked out and got mine from a family friend. However, the odds on finding a decent EB for $1500 are pretty tough. If you want to put a 302 in a cheap 4x4, try a Ranger - they can be had pretty...

    Rusty part ID question...

Found this rusty part on my new EB and was wondering what it used to be... Perhaps part of the spare tire carrier - keeper strap i'm guessing??? ?:? Am I close? Gotta love rust ... :-X
