    Which clutch to buy?

Dual friction is the way to go. Do it right the first time, that t-case is heavy.

    I failed inspection!!! Tooo funny!

Just throw the black & white antique tags on and the cops won't mess with you, with the yellow antique tags you are still required to get the yearly inspection - f that. If you do get pulled, most likely they're just trying to check your rig out, it's happened to me twice already this month...

Has anyone purchased those bed rail covers off of eBay? Do they work well, and how thick/thin is the stainless? I was interested in getting some covers as well.

Violent Rear End Movement when coming to a stop

All of a sudden last night I came to a stop light and the whole truck started to shake violently from the rear. Since there are a few possibilities I could be, I thought I'd start here. The symtom only happens when I'm about 15 feet from my final stoping point. It doesn't shake or make any...

Trans/transfer case weight & advise needed

I bought the 450lb tranny jack from Harbor Frieght for $50. Let me tell you, that was the best $50 I have ever spent on a tool. I took my 3spd and T Case out as one unit with a floor jack and a buddy. I had a friend help me get the unit on my new tranny jack and it went it perfectly! I couldn't...

    Side mirrors without doors?

Remeber you VA guys, you only need two mirrors total. One on the windshield, and the other on the driver side door. Some some food for thought.....I also run the black antique tags (no inspection needed), usually Johnny Law doesn't mess with me too much. I'm running without doors too, the stock...

    Ebay Mini Starter Installation?

I just purchased a mini high torque starter for my rig. Since the Clutch is out, I thought I'd might as well replace it too. Anyone running one of these? I know the orig. starter only has a one + wire hook up. On my new starter it has two. I think I need to run another wire from my solenoid...

    Replacing Body Mounts?

I am interested in replacing my body mounts, I believe they are the original and completely shot. My questions are..... Can I replace the body mounts without removing the entire body? I do not have the means to lift the body off, nor want to. Do I replace them one by one, or do I loosen/remove...

I searched and couldn't find an exact answer.. I just had my flywheel turned and now it's finally time to install all the new goodies!...Warm weather is coming...... ;D I just need to confirm the flywheel torque specs. I would say 60-70lbs should be good, but just wanted to check with all of...

I got it out tonight! Thanks guys for the science tip. I gotta try it next time. Instead I went and found an awesome puller which took no more than 20 secs to pull off, highly recommend and w/o the mess. This board rocks, thanks again.

    Pilot Bearing @#$%&!!!

Hey Guys, I believe my pilot bearing is the original, it will not budge  . I tried to pulled it out last night with the slide hammer type tool. I don't even want to get into what a piece that thing is. I know there are different type of pullers out there. Should I get the screw/jaw type...

    Tranny removal advice?

OK Guys, I got the beast out last night in one piece. There's no way I'm putting it back in one, so I'll split it from the back of the tranny. What should I look out for when I take the four bolts out? Gear oil leakage, bearings, etc...I just don't want to seperate them and all hell to break...

    Tranny removal advice?

I shattered my clutch this past weekend and I just finished the prep work for the removal (driveshafts, linkage, mounts, etc). Pretty much ready to pull the remaining four bolts to the bellhousing and away she'll go. I know the tranny and dana 20 must weigh about 300lbs, right? I have one jack...
