    AOD-E and 88 Mustang A9P

Can I use my A9P to control an AOD-E transmission? What year does the Mustang computer become AOD-E capable? Thanks

    Beards rear seat or Mustang

I am really happy with the way the Stang seats came out. The kids are very comfortable in them. All done, with the subframe, carpet, ply, belts, and hardware this setup was less than $80, and it's got a pretty trick storage feature that the high dollar Beards don't. I'd do it again. I've been...

    Fuel Injected

Agreed with everyone above. This is definitely not a one weekend job. Unless you have a "Overhaulin" team, it will turn into a hack job. My last Bronco had a Mustang transplant that ran great but I was never happy with the messy harness routing and smog equipment. I wanted to to it right on...

What hydro boost setups will work?

I like the 96 up Mustang booster myself. Ford went back to the vacuum booster to cut cost on the new chassis ('05) and only used Hboost on v-8 4.6 cars, so 96-04 V-8 cars are your donors. They are pretty common. The pull-a-part places around here get $40 for them. I know a couple of other guys...

    sheetmetal welding ?

It depends. If I'm patching bodywork, 100% weld. If I'm patching flooring or firewall, tack welds+spooge

    Need Chevy Disc Brake Info**fast**

I run a 00 Mustang hydroboost, stock MC, and Ch&*y disc conversion with stock drums in the rear. I tried the recommend "camper special" MC and ended up going back to the original as it degraded the pedal feel. This setup outstopped my '97 Expedition with rear discs.

    EFI'd 71 302 doesn't rev past 4,000

I tried the fuel pressure experiment long ago. It had 35-37psi at the 4K cutout, and no measureable drop at that condition either.

    EFI'd 71 302 doesn't rev past 4,000

Hey Bowsher, I think you live down the street. I'm at Queen Creek and Power. Do you happen to have a Mustang MAF you want to sell? (Hopefully with a pigtail). I will try your theory today as I'm off work. thanks for the info. If you find the mapping, please let me know. THe Exploder was a '97...

    EFI'd 71 302 doesn't rev past 4,000

Why would the MAF calibration be any different? They are both set up for 19# injectors.

    EFI'd 71 302 doesn't rev past 4,000

My EFI setup doesn't seem to pull past 4,000 rpm. It pulls like a freight train from idle up until 4K, then just stops pulling. It is a soft cutout, no backfiring or any other indications of lean conditions at 4K. Previously it would cut out at 3K rpm (hard cutout with backfiring), then I...

    4X4X2 Steering conversion

I think it does. Just make sure it looks like the one shown on the BC Broncos web page: http://bcbroncos.com/info.html (tech tips-Power steering) It must mount on the outside of the frame. The conversion is a piece of cake, I've done over 20 of them. Good luck!

scratch built floor pans-Updated, both sides done!!

OK, finished the passengers side today. It was just as rusty under the patch panel. I was able to salvage the body mounts by chasing the threads with a tap. I cheated by using self tapping screws to temporarily pull the new floor pans as tight as possible to the existing sheet metal prior to...

scratch built floor pans-Updated, both sides done!!

Wow, there is alot of knowledge on the forum. I am a mechanical engineer by trade and I work on aerospace parts all week. My job routinely involves metallugists, welding experts, stress analysists, etc. Heck, I think we (unnamed Phoenix aerospace firm) analize the sh$% out of just about...

scratch built floor pans-Updated, both sides done!!

THank you for chiming in, Cavalry. I was beginning to think that I was some kind of retard. I didn't notice anything weird about welding the CRS.

scratch built floor pans-Updated, both sides done!!

It seems to weld just fine. I'm using a Lincoln MIG with mixed gas. It doesn't flex much since it is .060 thick. I think OEM is .048?

scratch built floor pans-Updated, both sides done!!

This is the brake: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=39103 The floor pans I fabbed were about 18.5" wide and 16g thickness. I think it will do nicer bends in narrower sections and with thinner material.

scratch built floor pans-Updated, both sides done!!

The previous owner thought that it would be a good idea to rivet a patch panel over the rusted floors and spackle over the body mount and other areas. WHat a mess! Anyway, I thought I'd try fabbing some from scatch, since I'm too cheap to buy the replacement floor pans and I didn't know if they...

for those who have done the EFI thing

Here is yet another way to mount the ECU. I ditched my heater box so you may not have as much room under the dash, but the mount should work anywhere. I just bought a piece of Lexan from the Home Depot, I think it was $5, a couple of large hose clamps, and some bolts. The bolts are bolted...

Late model mustang back seat into bronco with pics

Madguyver, you'll need a SN95 mustang ('95 or later). I believe the bottom is the same, but the backrests are different. ON the fox mustang seats are very similar, but the frame that bolts to the trunk on the later cars is different from the way the hatchback seat backs mount. I found mine on...
