Bump... I revised my questions about the vehicle speed sensor.

I have revised this thread so it is a little easier to read... I just installed the Advanced Adapters 4R70W(AOD) to D20 adapter. The Adapter or new tailshaft has no place for the stock VSS. I need the VSS (preferably the stock one) to run the PCM EEC-IV. 1-Can I put my stock 97 Mountaineer VSS...

Is the rear tank you have metal or plastic? Condition ?

If returning to that shim, you may be able to soften the line on the Flank by playing with backlash a little? Its trial and error and patience... Take a picture of each change if you can, it will help to see what the changes did.

Ditto. A little less pinion shim (towards the center of ring gear) will help bring to bring both coast and drive closer to center, assuming your backlash is correct? You may not get a picture perfect pattern on a 4.56 gear, but you definately want your drive side to be closer to the Toe. If...
