I ran those bias on my 66' for a year or so. Fantastic look.....but they ride terrible and flat spot terrible in a short amount of time. Unless you plan on driving it weekly, or storing it in the air with the tires off ground, go with a radial.

Red oxide was what the entire 66' was primered in. The cover should be bronco gray poly just like the dash. Usually they were only found on u13's, cool find though.

Just forget all of what you've heard, and start fresh with the link in the post above. Decades of incorrect info, assumptions, rumors and speculation spread like gospel that just wasn't true about Budd bodies, Budd parts, Budd components and what was used from year to year or even transitions...

The 6.9l IDI is roller also, I had to look that one up, I couldn't remember. Almost nobody around still owns one anymore though also lol.

The shifters from about March 66' had the T handle with no plastic indicator box, just the rubber boot still. Later years don't have those items that are circled. I put this 66' thread together years ago, lots of 66 discussion and quirks in there...

The round door mirror is a 66' mirror, the square ones are 67'-77'. Looks like 67' dash knobs rather than 66'. Transfer case shifter is from 67' -72'. Wheels are 66'. The tires are old old, like possibly from the 60's or 70's old lol.

Depending on how much original is left on it, you can most likely determine if it even came with hubcaps. If it had chrome bumpers, chrome horn button ring, cigar lighter then it most likely came with hubcaps as well. If it's just got white painted bumpers, standard horn button then it most...

Cant tell you how many Marti's and vins I've seen over the years and zero to support 69's with a 289. Have had several times when someone said they had/have one but never produce any proof when asked. They usually never reply at all.
