Ok, thanks for the input, I think I'll stick with the Dura Spark unit for it's reliability, but add a hotter coil. Didn't know their would but such a swing from one side to the other on this topic, put thanks why I asked.

I'm wanting to upgrade my ign, is there a way to get rid of the Dura Spark that my 77 302 has in it? I want something simple and affordable.

Thanks for the input, found that the original owner stated that he replaced the starter, pulled it off...not the story. Going to get it checked, reinstall, and run a ground from the Batt to the engine block.
