    Problem with rear end rebuild

Got it done. Was told by Currie that they could be either way, depending on the gear brand. So, had to press it on and off a half dozen times. I'm happy with it now.

    Problem with rear end rebuild

My question is how much of an interference fit is the outer pinion bearing? I see videos of it just sliding right on when assembling the pinion housing. The above poster posted a link to a page where a pic appears to show it being pressed on.

    Problem with rear end rebuild

Yup, I see a pic there that says "press in tail bearing" with a picture of an outer pinion bearing. I cannot find another reference regarding pressing the outer pinion bearing other than that mislabeled pic. The "tail bearing" is behind the pinion head.

    Problem with rear end rebuild

I have rebuilt quite a few differentials over the years, but never a Ford 9". With the case side adjusters and the pinion carrier, it should be the easiest, but I've run into something. Rear is a '77, with an ARB and 4.88s. A while back I broke my transfer case output, and destroyed the...

How well-designed is the Duff 4 link?

Right on. Thanks for your opinion. That's what I'm thinking also. I have a friend who has been raving about the ORI struts, after installing 2 pairs on his Mog-equiped ride, so I will take a ride with him before deciding on coils or not.

How well-designed is the Duff 4 link?

Well, by added headroom I meant the extra space above the housing and upper link brackets. Which set of coils would provide the most flex? 3.5s or 5.5s?

How well-designed is the Duff 4 link?

Mike, my rig has a 3" body lift already to run the front shocks(has Duff long arms). I have heard about the 3.5 4 link and it's improved ride. I was planning on using BF or RS adjustable height upper cups anyway, so wondering if those, plus 5.5 coils from you guys, would get me where I want to...

How well-designed is the Duff 4 link?

I considered several anti-wrap devices. But, in for a penny, in for a pound. The 4 link provides more advantages than just keeping the pinion in line. I think, for most, that the anti-wrap devices are fine for most users, but not for me in this case.

How well-designed is the Duff 4 link?

I'm currently running a set of WH 5.5 springs in the rear, behind a 351, C4, Terra low D20 to a locked 4.88 9" and 37s, and am tired of the spring wrap, and worn u-joints. I've decided to link it, and am trying to decide whether to build or buy. I am a good fabricator, but work overseas, and...

Any idea of the setups involved? Tire size, gearing, horsepower, situations, etc?

    Best wrap trap/torque bar?

My rig has WH 5.5 springs,351, C6, standard D20, 4.88s, and 37s. Wrap can be pretty bad, depending on how into the throttle I get. I am planning on a doubler or an Atlas so I need to get a handle on it.
