    Ring of Fire (electrical)

@DirtDonk is referring to a Shunt Ammeter. It measures the current flowing through a known resistance metal bar or shunt by measuring the voltage drop between the ends. The meter is calibrated to display this voltage drop in Amps. I worked on electric material handling equipment running on 12...

I think this rig has been updated from the 351 to a 460.

Custom Crate Engines by TD Motion Performance?

If I was in the market for a 'new' Coyote engine, why wouldn't I go for the latest gen 4 version with 480HP?

    Popped a freeze plug

I have always used Permatex Aviation Form-A Gasket non-hardening #2 to seal expansion plugs into cast iron blocks. And also use brass plugs when available. I use a driver that sets the depth to just below the block surface.

Ah! I did not know this. My experience is with the 76-77 Bronco Knuckles.

Camshaft replacement, current cam specs unknown

If you are planning on a new cam and lifters, why not consider a retro-fit roller cam setup?

Had to hone a cylinder that had some rust

My prediction is that it will run very well and any oil usage will not be noticed. Compression loss will be minimum also except under very high load conditions at low speeds. I've seen a lot worse cylinder bores in running engines that had very good power and little oil usage.

    sliding hardtop windows

After having mine for a couple of months in our 100+ degree heat, I will agree that they make all the difference in the world! I've been running with the rear screened section wide open and the wing windows positioned to help draw out interior air. Almost as much air flow as a FSB with the rear...

    Steps?

I installed RockSlide Engineering step sliders. https://classicbroncos.com/forums/attachments/20240603_001958175_ios-jpg.926302/ I bought them before they made the version for the 66-77 Bronco. Mine fit a Wrangler JK 2DR and have custom frame mounts.

OEM locking hub fitment and O-ring question

There is an O-ring kit out there for the Spicer hubs, but I've found that the supplied O-ring in the kit is not a large enough diameter to fill the groove. I went through my O-ring assortments and found 2 that fit better and used them. Since you have the hub apart, you could walk it into a parts...

    1970 bronco clicking while driving

Two things come to mind... 1. Big rock stuck in the tire tread. 2. Something metal stuck in the tire that hasn't punctured it causing an air leak.

    Recall?

Completed the scheduled maintenance and recall yesterday. Recall took 1.3 hr and 4 of the same kits. And now there is another recall for the hard top! But no actionable items as Ford is still working on the remediation.

H4 Headlight diagnostics on Centech harness help needed

Poor electrical connections are capable of transferring voltage but not amperage. I've seen this many times. A DMM can be used to measure the voltage drop across an electrical connection. If there is more than 0.2 Volts dropping across the connector, it needs to be looked into. The reason the...

Coyote with 6R80 and 33” tires axle ratio

I drove our '24 F150 w/5.0 today and watched the RPMs. Also was driving straight into a 30 mph headwind at times. Flat straight roads w/o headwind would run as low as 1200 rpm. Add headwind and it downshifted to 1900 ~ 2100 rpm. Thinking about this and knowing how my '68 is, I would be gearing...
