i have been running these spacers since my disc conversion in 2001 with no issues at all. i highly recommend it if you want to save a few bucks on the conversion. pm me if you want a set. jason

Been running stock 73 spindles on my chevy disc conversion since 2001... i was trying to keep the cost of the conversion down, and have no complaints thus far.

too much backlash will usually cause a howling noise. the ring and pinion may wear a little quicker than a properly adjusted r&p, but a doubt that it will grenade because of it.

i did my conversion from a 1983 chevy blazer also. you will need the backing plates, calipers,and brake lines. i made spacers that allowed me to run the stock bronco spindles.( i made spares if your interested) you will also need rotors/hubs for a 78-79 bronco, 76 f250 camper special master...

i went with the chevy disc conversion. instead of going with one of the pricey yet convienent "kits", i opted to round up my parts(cores) at a local junkyard, then traded them in for new ones at autozone. the only used parts i installed were the backing plates, and my stock spindles. my total...

sounds like the high gear clutches are worn out...

another vote here for detroit... everytime i hear someone say they dislike detroits, im really surprised. i have been abusing mine on and off-road for ten years, and cant break it! im even happy with its performance on snow and ice(as long as my front is locked in also). thats just my.02

sweet, ive been wanting to upgrade to taller stands myself...

a 408 is a "stroked" 351w. c4s can be beefed up to hold fairly stout motors, but i doubt that a stock c4 would hold up very lomg to a severe thrashing, that stroker motors are capable of putting out.

i guess the tech article didnt make the cut... i have sent you a few pics, but the quality of the pics are not very good.

are you referring to the red spicer lockouts at jeff's? i cant seem to find the superwinch rebuilds.
