Northwestern Oregon '68 Bronco purchase questions - ethics and refresh questions

You paid what they were asking. You didn't know what these were selling for and even if you did, you paid what they were asking. Tomorrow the bottom could fall out on these things and it be worth less than $5000.... not likely but still. We paid $2500 for ours 25 years ago, it boggles my mind...

    Is your Bronco named Bucky?

Nope, just the Bronco. My other vehicles got names though, all girl names. Never felt right to tell people I spent all day under Bill or something.

    Opinion on color

Two tone looks more regal. I like the way it is in the photo where it's not just all of the top half, but the window frames are still darker. Also like the white top, but probably because it's a staple with old Broncos.

    1969 Broncos with 289's

I'll see if I can't find the old thread, but the vintage mustang forums had some knowledge on this. From what I recall there were 3 places making the 289 and 302s, when they swapped over to 302 they used some 289 parts that were the same. There are some number matching Mustangs that have 302s in...

Where did Ford miss the mark on first gen Bronco?

Not making a sup'd up version. They gave one to Shelby. They had the Boss Bronco. Neither went anywhere.

New Member intro - 408/coyote questions

Not in CA. Far from it, lol Truck was just there once 30+ years ago before we bought it. Thinking I'm sticking with this 302, chasing numbers right now as the block casting is different than I'm used to seeing and the assembly date code has an extra letter at the end.

New Member intro - 408/coyote questions

I misspoke, was a column shift not an automatic. It was converted with a Hurst shifter. Edit: So this got me wanting to actually verify things, so I climbed under there. The engine casting code reads "C8 6015-B" There is nothing but a decent space after C8. I'm missing the data plate in the...

New Member intro - 408/coyote questions

Figured I'd say hello. Have a 1968 Bronco with 33s, been a daily driver for about 25 years, time to freshen it up. Was originally an automatic with an inline 6, originally red too. Currently has a 302 with a 3 speed toploader. Engine is getting tired, and I'm tired of a 3 speed. Thinking of...
